Agree with Nj but I do have a soft spot for Heaven and He'll as Dio is great on that. Also their final album in 2013. The Rick Rubin effect .

This list makes me want to check out the latter 80's and 90's records which I've never listened to before.
While the early Ozzy stuff is of course classic and defines the band, I feel like people really need to give the Dio era a listen. They made some magic on Heaven and Hell.

I think the first album and Heaven and Hell are the best.
I really like Technical Ecstacy and hate Sabotage.
Headless Cross is very good.

Sabotage and Master of Reality are pretty good.

Vol. 4 has the single greatest Sabbath riff of all time - Supernaut.

Vol. 4 has the single greatest Sabbath riff of all time - Supernaut. Frank Zappa agrees with you so you can't be too far off.

I share a birthday with Frank Zappa and Jane Fonda and all we near-miss sagittarians acknowledge this as the greatest Sabbath riff, bar none. And how about that heavy flamenco mid-section.

This is also me. I've never given the Dio era a real chance. And I feel I really should.
