but the general audience doesn't even know her, that flop isn't her fault. Patrick Stewart is the most recognizable of the cast.

I thought her character in the last two was pretty bland. I hope they give her something more interesting to do in the next one.

@snakeeyes43 Seriously? she's one of the best things about Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation (2015). but she seems to be more of a side thing in MI: Fallout (2018) as her impact in that movie is not as strong with the viewer like it was in Rogue Nation. p.s. in fact, I think she's the most interesting female character (along with being the most attractive ) in the entire series due to Rogue Nation.

Glad you liked her, I just personally didn't think she had much personality. I thought Paula Patton had a better dynamic with the team.

I love Ferguson in the MI films. When she was introduced in Rogue Nation, I was sold.
I am thinking they might have two more MI films with Cruise able to do most of his stunts.

Yeah, because while he seems youthful for his age, his age will eventually catch up to him as MI7/MI8 are listed for 2021/2022 release dates which he will be pushing 60 by then. so even if he continues to do some stunts, I can't see him pushing it too much more at the rate he's been doing it.
p.s. I just wonder if they are ever going to end the series. because if they do at some point, I wonder if they will kill Cruise character off and then pretty much end the series. or possibly reboot it in the future as MI seems like a series that can do solid $ if done right as I think if given a decent lead actor it could continue into the future or just wait 10-20 years and reboot it etc. but given the solid $ they currently do with Cruise I would assume they are going to milk it as long as they can. so I won't be surprised if we still see MI movies with Cruise being the lead at least a fair amount into his 60's. but I guess even going that route... they can probably only get away with it for so long as eventually Cruise is going to start to look old and they should probably end it a bit before he reaches that point.

I would be shocked if they didn't continue the series with a new lead, male or female. It would be too tempting.
Or maybe a new tv series on Amazon or Netflix.
Cruise is finally starting to look like a man in his 40s, which means he has only so much more he can do and I don't think he wants to go the complete CGI path with those stunts. To me, he is the reason these films work so well, because he is not only a great actor but obviously loves to get out there and do some stunts.
Maybe they will kill him off. Or possibly, unlikely, make him finally a truly bad guy.
Whatever they do, I am happy they have Rebecca Ferguson back.

Yeah, as it seems like a solid $ maker if done right. so I doubt the Mission Impossible series will totally die off, as even if Cruise retires etc the series will be back in some form I suspect.
Yeah, as I think even being generous he does not look younger than 40 something. but, in my opinion, I think he looks roughly late 40's which ain't bad considering he's nearing 57. so he looks roughly a decade under his actual age.
so if that him looking roughly 10 years or so under his actual age holds for the foreseeable future, we might have something around 5-10 years left before he might have to retired from the role.
but even putting aside him looking younger aside, which seems to be easy for Cruise, it will also depend on his body being able to do the physical stunts etc as I suspect his looks will last longer than his body in that regard which is why, even though in terms of his look, he might be able to go for roughly another 5-10 years, his body probably won't be able to, at least not at the level he's doing it lately.
but then again... some people like Liam Neeson seem to be decent action stars and they are into their 60's. so people like Liam Neeson can do it, Cruise surely can for years to come.
Yeah, as while they can possibly work without him if done right, they will almost surely be better with him overall. plus, many of us affiliate him with the Mission Impossible name in general. so if in the future they change leads for whatever reason, it might be more difficult for us to look past it unless they sort of turn things into more James Bond-like where the series continues on for generations with multiple different leads and then we might start to get a bit more used to the lead changes. but then again I suspect there are still some die hard Sean Connery fans in regards to James Bond that have a herd time seeing James Bond as anyone else besides Connery even though many of the younger generations, while they like Connery, and might still consider him one of the best, if not the best, they also like the others playing the James Bond role to.
but regardless of when Cruise hangs up his affiliation with the Mission Impossible series... it does seem almost inevitable they will continue that series at some point as it just seems like a safe bet for $ making if they spend the proper time making it and anything that can make solid $, tends to get made at some point or another.
