Not really. This is probably my least favorite season so far. The only episode I liked was the season premiere.

Good finale, but i'm glad it's over. After seeing each ep a couple of times, I wouldn't watch it again.

As sad as it is to admit, this has been the worst season of the show. It always has filler, but this season has taken that to the extreme. You seriously could watch the premiere and the finale and not miss a thing.

Yes, people don't understand what characterization is in a story.
Every scene can't be action.

"Characterization"? You could find middle-schoolers with better writing abilities.

"Characterization"? You could find middle-schoolers with better writing abilities. Not at all.

Hell no. This season sucked. Might have even been worse than season 2. And don't give me "characterization". The only characterizing going on was turning every character into a moron.

It has nothing to do whit action or no action. It was almost an entire filler season.

Nope! It was total sh*t !! Boring and too much filler. As other people have said the Season opener and the finale were ok but that is about all. Nothing is going to stop me from watching though.

With the arrival of Negan I expected a lot from this season - but alas it did not deliver. An excellent premiere and a good finale and a few good eps in between - but way too much filler.
It might be a good idea to go down to a 12 ep season.
I'm still a fan of this show and will be watching next season.

This really has dropped to the quality level of a sitcom.
Most TWD enthusiasts will fabricate the excuse of "it was character development and good build-up", and to those individuals, I say watch the second season of Game of Thrones or the first season of True Detective. Deliberately prolonging decisive/climatic plot points to cling on to your already diminishing viewer count is not what character development and plot progression look like. The last thing anyone desires is to secure additional moments of intimacy with these shallow two-dimensional characters who change their moral compasses each and every season.

I agree with Jon. Just rewatch the earlier seasons and you'll see how much this show has degraded.

Negan was the reason why I stopped to watch it - always the same trope cycle:
PSYCHO - Governor
INSANE - Terminus
PSYCHO - Police/Hospital
INSANE - Wolves
PSYCHO - Negan
INSANE - Whisperers
Psychos are those villains who created a functioning group but with the elements of fear, control and violence...and each Psycho villain is more reckless and brutal than his predecessor.
The insane trope is about villains or groups which "lost" it and became less and less civilized, they "dropped" their humanity: canibals, near animals (but still using technology) and then the Whisperers who are wearing human skin instead of clothes and live practically among the zombies...
The comic/show is switching between these two types of adversaries whereas they becomes more and more extreme.
Can you go any futher in the extreme than Negan and the Whissperers?
I wished the show would take an entire different turn - like depicting how the Zombie Apocalypse ends, and the rebirth of the human civilization begins. Or bring an external factor in that changes everything - Nato-troops that fight the Zombies; a muation that creates evolved zombies who pose either a threat, or even start to create a civilization on their own (=> I am legend).
Even Aliens who created this black goo (=> patient 19) and finish the job juSt like the Engineers in Prometheus would be a progress.

not really. despite my irritation about the cliffhanger the first episode was terrific and showed great promise. there were good scenes here and there after but i couldn't believe much they padded it out. are they that afraid of catching up to the books?
