I've never seen a more embarrassing project than the DCU. If they weren't so desperate to catch up to Marvel, they wouldn't be pressing forward with so many underdeveloped films one after the other. But they are desperate, and so instead of one bad film, and then moving on with a different franchise, like we used to get in the early 2000's, you now have DC building an entire world of bad films because they can't stop themselves. And so the Flash is starting from scratch, the Batman film might be doing the same, numerous directors have left multiple films, Batman VS Superman was an apology tour for everything that was wrong with Man of Steel, BVS was also a mess and nearly half a billion short of it's reasonable potential, Suicide Squad getting crushingly poor reviews, and now we've had weeks of Affleck expressing disappointment with the new Batman film, stepping away as director while trying to make it sound like it's no big deal, and now rumors from multiple sources related to DC that he'd rather not be involved at all. If you're one of these DC fans who couldn't tell the DCU was already a train wreck waiting to happen when Man of Steel started giving you disaster moments so famous they have names like Tornadocide, then you have to be smelling the flaming pile of used diapers going up in this dumpster fire now.

F4 2015 was definitely more embarrassing and had far more serious issues all through production. And I only had to go back a year and a half to find a situation that negates your hyperbole.

Fant4Stic wasn't a movie, you realize that right? They were never for a second trying to make a good film. It was simply a ploy to leverage the rights and it didn't go how they planned, leaving them with a barely planned movie that they suddenly had to make.
Look, if you didn't follow that, what happened was that they tried to threaten making a film in order for Marvel to buy the rights back and Marvel called their bluff. As it came down to the deadline and Fox realized they were about to lose the rights for free because Marvel wasn't going to bite, they officially started production even though they had virtually no actors or script. Go back and look. Most of the cast including major roles were hired after shooting began. They were never serious about making they film. They just threw some crap together because their ego wouldn't let them lose.
So no, you didn't negate what I said. You just weren't aware of what happened with Fant4Stic

It was a legitimate film, you can put any conspiracy on it you want, but there is no requirement that they dump 100m$ into it, which they did. Whether or not it showed, they did try and make a decent flick.

Whether or not it showed, they did try and make a decent flick. No it really wasn't, that's the point. Go ahead and check out the hire dates for the actors if you can find it. Everybody but the main 5 were hired after filming supposedly started. They filmed the entire thing in one building with no exterior sets. The scripts was as thin as it can possibly be. They didn't come close to trying to make a decent flick, they threw what you saw together at the last minute, which is exactly why every review says 'it feels like a movie that never happens'. Trust me I followed the entire production. Nobody ever thought it was going to turn out well.

I thought Man Of Steel was a let down. That character in the film wasn't anything like the Superman I grew up with, and knew. The film wasn't really bad, just not what I would have like to have seen.
I thought BvS was a little better, but... Superman was still a continuation of the character from Man Of Steel, and since I didn't like how he was portrayed in that, I just couldn't enjoy the film as much as I would have liked.
I usually don't go to the theater to see movies. I just don't like the crowds and such. So, I just purchased them on DVD/Blu-ray, and watched them that way...
As for Suicide Squad... Seriously? First, I can't believe there was a comic book made about super villains. Second, I can't understand why anyone would make a movie about them? After looking at what the characters look like (which seem like rejects), in the promotional materials, I am not excited to see this film...
I understand that Batman, and the Flash made cameos in the film, and since it is part of the DCU, there is a good chance that these characters, and some of the plot, will appear in some future film... So... I did pick this one up on Blu-ray too. At some point I plan to watch it, so I don't get "left behind"... But I am dreading it...
I have to agree, this franchise seems like a complete waste of time. I have the three first films, and watched the first two, and I have not had an enjoyable experience. And with Suicide Squad next on my watch list. I have no hopes for the future.
I had hopes for this franchise, but now I feel like... "Three Strikes And I'm Out"
To be honest, I don't even know if there are other films on DVD/Blu-ray. I haven't been following up on it. I haven't the urge to do so.
I supposed I should at least do my research, and possibly consider watching those...
Fant4Stic? I don't even recall seeing that one in the stores. Is it out yet?
But from what I have seen so far... the DCU is nothing like the MCU!... And for me, with Superman being my favorite superhero & Batman being in my top 5.... That's saying something...
I know this is just my 2 cents worth of one fan's opinion... But's that how I feel.

Comic book fans might watch whatever comes out even if it is bad but I do wonder if too many superhero films will kill the genre as far as the average person goes?

"They filmed the whole thing in one building with no exterior sets." You mean like all the outside shots or shots of them as kids in their house or garage or the scenes in the other dimension? That was all in one set? And that's what you'll say to convince me to trust you?

That was all in one set? And that's what you'll say to convince me to trust you? Yeah. Let me make it clear. During filming, there was no released information, with the one exception of 2 very heavily criticized shots of doom. There were no released stills, no filming sightings, no interviews, no nothing. They locked themselves in a studio and never came out, even refusing to answer questions relating to the progress of the shoot, and going so far as to get upset when questioned about the extremely bizarre nature of it.
It was the weirdest film shoot you'll ever hear of.
I am telling you straight up, they did not want to make this movie, but they also didn't want to give up the rights for free, and so what happened was the biggest confused uninspired mess of a production you will ever see for no other reason than to try to leverage the sale of the rights, and Marvel simply called their bluff, leaving Fox completely screwed.

Nah, I'm a solid comic movie fan and yet I can't bring myself to finish watching Ghost Rider 2 or Elektra. I also regret spending the time to watch Fantastic 4 reboot and I had to keep pinching myself to avoid falling asleep in BvS. We be willing to eat food but we still want good food.

Not wanting to direct the Batman movie and not wanting to be Batman anymore are two different things.

I am really disappointed with how things turned out. I love MOS,it made me excited to see DC films again when The previous year Dark Knight Rises made almost want to never see a dc film again. Shame my excitement for the DCEU was short lived.
