I dug this. There were surprisingly a good amount of twists & turns in it to keep me guessing & was entertained by it overall . and it surprisingly had a good amount of heart to it too . The lead did a good job. That being said , there was definitely some cringeworthy / cheesy dialogue thru out but it didn't hinder the film overall for me. A lot of good actors in this one (btw some damn good cameos too! You're gonna want to pay attention to one of them for sure ) Battle Angel is a face paced /sci fi spectacle that should be seen on the biggest screen you can find . Is it a cinematic game changer like say Avatar? definitely not but it still brought a good amount of entertainment to the big screen and I'd take Alita over a lot of these soul less reboots/sequels that Hollywood keeps shoveling out to the masses any day of the week.

Glad you liked it.
Alita: Battle Angel came in $200K higher than expected with an $8.7M first day (that includes $2.4M previews) to win the Valentine’s Day box office. We also hear that the Robert Rodriguez directed-Fox/Lightstorm produced sci-fi pic notched an A- CinemaScore and that PostTrak exits rose to 4 1/2 stars (which is great).

This was better than I was expecting. A lot of heart, awesome and surprisingly brutal action. The acting was solid and Alita herself was very well done.
This movie should get more praise than it currently is.

I thought it was really good until the last act of the movie, where it started faltering IMO. Also, I didn't appreciate a cliffhanger-esque ending for a movie that may never get a sequel if it underperforms. I thought the girl who played Alita was great, as was Christoph Waltz. Mahershala Ali and Jennifer Connolly were just kind of meh, and the boyfriend wasn't great IMO. Oh, and the cameo reveal at the end looked kind of silly to me, but hey...talk about an easy paycheck.

The SJW-movement is attacking Cameron for it...maybe it isn't that bad after all.

I would have thought that was a good thing? Who knows they complain about everything. She is probably the wrong type of strong female character in their eyes.

Could it be that the mouth to mouth propaganda (Rotten tomatoes: 60% critics; 94% audience) saves this anticipated flop movie?
The more I hear from people who actual watched it, the more I'm moving from nay to yay. But the trailers were awfully...really... "woke".

The more I hear from people who actual watched it, the more I'm moving from nay to yay. But the trailers were awfully...really... "woke". If I watch it, then only because of the visuals. That some so called SJWs don't like it, doesn't mean it's something for people, who usually feel annoyed by SJWs' concerns. I think I'm simply too old to understand the appeal of these cutesy "Kampfmaschinen", it's mostly something for Americans and highly Americanized people of a younger generation. Btw, one of the differences between the anime-adaption from the 90s and this movie is that only Alita got these huge eyes, but not her young friend. Her friend(s) have big eyes but these friends are only shown in flashbacks during a massive war that maybe covered in a future prequel. I'm very surprised about the reaction to this movie and I loved it, wasnt expecting so many others out there to love it too.
Well done to Schalke so far btw

The audience seems to love it and the critics seems to hate it.
I mean on metacritic The critics has it as 54 The audience as it as 8.5
On rotten tomatoes the critics has it at 59% The Audeince at 93%
Its seems that if critics loves a movie the audience hates it. And if critics hates a movie the audience loves it.
Frankly when it comes to movies or anything its not the critics you should listen to but the audience.
