There always been an element of popcorn horror here. Like I never, and i assume nobody ever, really gets invested in the characters...but rather watch to see what kind of new Rube Goldberg-esque murder Death can come up with.
But I rewatched the first and third film in the series. The first ive watched plenty enough...but i had totally forgotten about the subway ending of the third film. I honestly couldnt remember anything past the fair. I didn't even remember that goth kid going crazy. Also, Mary Elizabeth Winstead is hot.

A little Mary Elizabeth Winstead makes anything better.

I actually generally like and care about the cast on the chopping block. I think "The Final Destination" was probably the weakest of the bunch. It had it's moments. But very much felt like it was made for TV. Went straight for that buttery Popcorn. (One could argue there's nothing wrong with that.)

The first one was just a truly great experience at the theatre, the impact obviously lessens the more you watch it over the years, but it deserves to be held in high regard.
Part 2 was more of the same with some added humourous touches.
Part 3 holds its head up high as well and in Winstead it has not only a yummy actress on show, but clearly the best lead actress in the series (love the Choose Their Fate option on the home format extras).
Then it gets messy with The Final Destination (part 4), it's very poor, exposition heavy, bad writing, bad acting and they used a gimmick to try and hide just how lazy it is.
Part 5 proved hugely divisive, but I really like how they used ingenuity to bring it full circle, while the narrative twist at pics end is a doozy!

A very enjoyable franchise that I like most of the films from.

I only saw the first Final Destination and liked it very much. A cool concept for a slasher movie with some creative kills.

Love the first one because it's not as over-the-top with the kills or overly gory and actually had decent characters (Sean William Scott a plus!). And the stereotypical bully actually becomes quite likeable by the end even if he's still a dick. Plus the airplane sequence was one of the most intense and terrifying scenes ever. Never seen film since that really tops for airplane crashes/exploding or as effective as it was on screen.

I like the 'Final Destination' franchise too and own all the movies on DVD. The first three are my favourites and if I had to rank them in the order of the movies I liked the most I would say 2, 1, 3, 5 and 4. I was surprised they didn't make a sixth one 'cause I recall reading on some Horror websites there were plans for another one after 'Final Destination 5' but I just looked it up out of curiosity and found out they are working on a reboot of the franchise with the 'Saw' writers and it will be interesting to see what they do with it. I quite like them all... except the NASCAR one, whatever number in the series that is. That one blows chunks.

My fave kills:
I think it's the second one where a guy gets sliced in half suddenly. I think the last one with the eyeball scene. There was one in a drive thru window I liked too.

One of my favorite recent horror franchises along with Wrong Turn and Hatchet. I'd love to see a Part 6. Would be cool if it opened with a water park disaster as the fatal accident that sets up the death design plot.

Second one has the guy get a piece of barbed wire fence thrown at his and cuts him into like three pieces. Itβs a really cool shot where like one of his arms and legs get cut off before the rest of his body splits apart.
