Hell, I think just about everyone (or at least most people) goes over whatever the posted speed is in general by roughly 5mph or so.

RiP, IMDbYeah, that seems like your probably pretty close if I took my best guess. because I typically float 5-7mph over whatever the posted speed is, especially if it's not in a city with a fair amount of people walking etc as in those cases, which is usually 25mph posted speed or thereabouts, I might slow down a little bit. but once I am outside of that type of stuff I typically do 5-7mph over whatever the posted speed is as I kind of figure if one starts going over 7mph over the speed your probably starting to roll the dice a bit although if one wants to be a bit safer I would say stay within 5mph-ish over whatever the posted speed is or less.

I'm never late for anything. I break the speed limit because I can.

Which destination do you break the speed limit for the most in life? Home. The speed limit is 80 kilometres per hour approaching the town where I live, but I regularly exceed 160 kilometres per hour going home.

I continually broke the speed limit for the 11 years of hell that I spent working at one company. I had to punch a time clock. A college graduate, doing skilled work, having to punch a time clock just like a warehouse worker.
I had a 43 mile commute, and was given no special allowances for major traffic accidents, blizzard conditions or anything else. The public schools could be shut down and I was still expected to be on time. The salaried people, just one grade above mine, sauntered in whenever they felt like it, no problem. But I would get a 'naughty point', and if I got enough naughty points, they could fire me. No wonder I developed migraine headaches during that period of time. I loved what I did at that job, but I loathed the company and especially HR. They had no interest in retaining skilled employees, the management felt that we were all replaceable, and I worked in a department of people that were perpetually pissed off. I still tense up if I am driving in the area where I worked or on a road that I took during my commute.
Now, I never break the speed limit, I get there when I get there.

None. The NYC subways can't break the speed limit.
However, in response to this question. To keep up with the flow of traffic. Back when I drove people wouldn't do the speed limits in town forget the highways!
