I really wish they had kept Danny Boyle's Story and had the Main Villain be a Woman.
Supposedly, The Role would have gone to either Angelina Jolie (I have always wanted to see her Play the Main Villain in a "JAMES BOND" Movie) or Helena Bonham Carter.

anthonyrocksThat might be decent once in a while to mix things up. If what you say is true, I am personally glad they went with someone else as I just can't see those two as James Bond material, especially Jolie as she's a bit too mainstream/too well known. I know you might be able to counter that by mentioning Halle Berry (Die Another Day (2002)) etc but she's also not the best choice for a James Bond movie either (but I can't say she's the worst to appear in a James Bond movie with a decent sized role and I doubt I would think Jolie would be bad either, even though I think they would be better off with someone else overall). I think with James Bond movies it's best to cast people who are only semi-known, or mostly unknown, and not TOO popular/mainstream. in this regard I think the James Bond movies seem to mostly stick to that standard even though they might branch into more well known people once in a while.

The Last 2 Bond Movies had BIG Name Actors (Javier Bardem and Christoph Waltz) play the Main Villains and they were both Pretty Darn Good.

anthonyrocksYes, they are a name on some level (I don't think they are quite household name level fame though). my guess is I don't think they are as known as someone like Angelina Jolie among the wide public in terms of basic name/face recognition. like if you just randomly walked up to people on the street I would expect those two to be less recognized (by name and/or face) than someone like Jolie even though they[Bardem/Waltz] are pretty well known among us movie people. but anyways... sure, they [Bardem/Waltz] were good but I think they just got a better overall presence for Bond movies etc than someone like Jolie would who seems to have fame that exceeds her screen presence etc. but who knows, maybe she would be better than I think.
