It's pretty good so far. If anybody is really into World War One history or likes military nonfiction, I recommend it highly. The most I really paid attention in regards to Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck was that one episode of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles where he wound up being captured by Sean Patrick Flanery.
But this sounds like a topic just ripe for a big glossy Hollywood epic in the vein such as Lawrence of Arabia or Out of Africa. Even better, Karen Blixen knew Paul von Lettow and rumors circled them having a brief affair. But that's just one of many side stories while covering his guerilla campaign and his command of the Schutztruppe.
I guess because of the colonial setting, the racial politics might be tricky. But it's been documented in the book (and elsewhere) that von Lettow-Vorbeck was considerably less prejudiced (if at all) than other German officers (or Europeans in general) so that'd be out of the way imo.
