$100-120 million opening weekend domestic. are you trolling? based off pre-sales, it is clearing 150m with a shot at 200m , but wom may not be as good as black panther or a holiday weekend, preventing that.

If the OW does make it to 180m+ will the people that said that the 80m "reduction" from the initial projection due to Brie's comments then say it would've made 260m+? You know if she kept her mouth shut? Or will they realize that predicting opening weekend is a guessing game?

Many reasons why it will overperform. The box office has been dead all of 2019, ripe for a breakout. Lead up to End Game makes it a must see for MCU fans, though i didn't think it was necessary to see opening weekend when they have many weeks to check it out.

If it makes 150-190m opening weekend and your sentiment is shared by a lot of viewers. (Not having to see it opening weekend) that would give it some legs. Of course WOM well help or hurt that as always.

Not really. I see movies with my kid. This weekend is CM. I don't know if Wonder Park is on her radar, but that's next week. I know Us is on her radar the next week. I don't care about the story, but I love Tim Burton fantasy so Dumbo is the next week. Trouble because Shazam & Pet Semetary is the first weekend in April. Normally pickup would be the next week, but that is Hellboy. No pickup week until mid-April.

Not sure if it is any indication at all of the BO, but as with the last 8 MCU films, I went to see the first 2D showing on the first Friday. With the exception of maybe Infinity War, CM had the biggest audience by far.

20.7 that's huge, but no Black Panther Thereโs no reason to have ever assumed that its box office wouldโve been like Black Panther. Regardless of your opinion on the film, BP was pretty groundbreaking in the sense that it was a mainstream Hollywood blockbuster that had a mostly black cast, and that didnโt depict blacks as suffering from oppression or poverty. On the other hand, there have been plenty of mainstream Hollywood movies with female leads.

Kind of off topic but still in the MCU. Does anyone think Endgame will start their preview shows Thursday super early? The early estimates claim it could hit 300 million opening weekend but that its estimated runtime of 3 hours could hurt that. Starting Thursday shows at 2 or 3 PM just might help it enough to push it across the line.

Saying it's the 5th highest grossing isn't very accurate because the previews started from 6pm.
The Avengers did less at $18 million but that was purely from midnight showings.
