Not sure if this has been discussed but it just occurred to me Stan Lee was playing himself in this film. Yes and he was practicing his lines form the movie Mallrats (1995). He had a script that said Mallrats and something about (writer/director) Kevin Smith on the cover. It was totally perfect.
Kevin Smith has posted a short video about it on his youtube page.

I can only guess at your meaning there as I don't follow wrestling. Jabronis are wrestlers whose job is to get dominated by and lose to the superstars in order to make the superstars look good. And in MCU, MCU Dictator Kevin Feige always makes law enforcement officers and US soldiers look either incompetent or corrupt in order to make the Avengers look more heroic. My question is why does Feige hate law enforcement officers and US soldiers so much that he's always making them look either incompetent or corrupt? If law enforcement, intelligence or military could handle it there would be no need for the heroes That's my point. In The Avengers, New York city was under attack and Captain America took over the job of traffic cop and told people where to run to. New York city has been the target of terrorist attacks multiple times in the past. So the mayor and the NYPD would already have an evacuation plan for emergencies and would already have trained their officers what to do and how to evacuate people in an emergency. So there shouldn't have been any need for Captain America to take over the job of traffic cop and tell people where to run. But MCU Dictator Kevin Feige intentionally made the NYPD too incompetent to evacuate people on their own in order to make Captain America look more heroic by being a traffic cop and tell people where to run. Also, since the Chitauri had no superpowers, the US military could've defeated the Chitauri on their own and there wouldn't have been any need for the Avengers. But MCU Dictator Kevin Feige intentionally made the US military too incompetent to even fly fighter jets to New York city to shoot down a bunch of non-superpowered aliens in order to make the Avengers look more heroic. Once again, my question is why does Feige hate law enforcement officers and US soldiers so much that he's always making them look either incompetent or corrupt? What do you get out of being a useless piece of shit anyways??

It was a great scene but it's kind of weird the more you think about it. So he's Stan Lee in this movie. Stan Lee, who talks to people in Mallrats about characters in Marvel comics. So Marvel comics exist in the MCU? It's almost too meta.

Did anyone remark on the reference to "The Godfather"? "Take the tesseract, leave the lunch box"? I thought it was great!

Yeah I like cats too but was is it a believable alien or just an out of place gimmick? The best I could say is you could easily remove the cat from the story completely and it’d be fine. I highly disagree. I found Captain Marvel to be an average film. It was even downright boring in parts, but Goose and Fury were the best parts. I brought my two girls and they loved the cat. Goose's scenes were all they talked about. It did make a difference. It was mindless, fun, entertainment in an otherwise bland movie.

I love cats and loved Goose. Just feel she could have been removed quite easily and the movie could’ve been just as good. But seriously awesome your little homies loved it.

Just saw this today. Very good movie, I thought. Maybe not Marvel's best film or anything, but hovering around the top five. Some fun action, some laughs, Brie was good, no serious weaknesses. Definitely would recommend.

Definitely would recommend. It's an awful movie. The first half of the movie keeps jumping from 1 place to another place and is just a disjointed and convoluted mess. Brie Larson's performance is wooden and robotic. There's no character development or personality to the Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel character. There are no epic or memorable scenes like the No Man's Land scene in Wonder Woman. And nothing happens in this movie that you need to see for Endgame. It's not worth seeing. Definitely would recommend skipping this movie.

Real people have had Marvel Comics before, so there could be comics dedicated to the fantasy adventures of known superheroes in that world just like the Seventies KISS comic which reportedly had their blood mixed into the ink.
Yeah, they were all on drugs in the Seventies.

Captain Midnight makes a good point about Carol’s time on Star Force needing to be fleshed out.

Saw it again Friday, and what really stuck out to me the second time around is how funny it became once Mendelsohn shows up at Maria's house. The energy of the film really picks up, and it probably isn't coincidental that Carol remembers who she is around the same time in the film. Back to the humor, it's all spot on. Talos saying, "...we're all a little on edge here," getting upset with his science guy, being frightened of the flerken, etc. The dialog as they head into space. "Can you turn into a filing cabinet?" "Why would I turn into a filing cabinet?" "Venus flytrap. I'll give you $50 right now if you turn into a Venus flytrap." Talos teasing Fury about the turbulence as they go into space. All that stuff is great and it only continues from there on out.
They really couldn't do more of that earlier because they were building the mystery and the character dynamic between Carol and Fury, so I understand the decision. But it would've been great if they could've found another way to inject some humor or a bit more personality to the first two acts of the film.

Hopefully Talos returns in Captain Marvel 2 and turns into a filing cabinet or else the movie is a complete failure.

I liked the movie overall, but found the characters more interesting than the plot or movie as a whole.
The plot was 90% very predictable, except for the "big twist" with the Skrulls, but I liked the performances, characterizations and themes a lot.

So after seeing it it's basically the same as most of the other stand alone Marvel films, the only difference explaining any hatred of it is...it's set in the nineties?
