Pakistan getting thrashed in the warm ups but you know they will turn it on when the tournament starts. They are such a hit and miss side, reminds me of Chelsea FC. They always seem to be in some sort of turmoil

They always seem to be in some sort of turmoil Well, I thought on the contrary, Pakistan put a great show in the 2nd ODI against England a few days back by scoring 361 in reply to 373. Batting is their bigger concern and they are doing decent.
I do believe Pakistan's odds don't reflect their true ability. Also we shouldn't forget that Pakistan's last major success in ODIs came in England. They definitely have a chance.

It’s refreshing to see a side picked on pure form, not potential or reputation. Archer had to be picked. Dendy couldn’t. Could prove the difference between England and say India (not enough quicks) and Australia (only 1 keeper, 3 key players haven’t played Intl’s for a while.)

A couple more kits released today. Pakistan’s is green, with green and green. England’s is a cracker in genuine two tone blue with subtle red trims.

Yes, the selection of Dawson raised a few eyebrows but he's bang in form for his County, so it makes sense to have that option.

The sad thing for other teams would be that in some games they may think that they have almost won by taking 5 early wickets only to be humiliated by England's very capable lower order.

Running up to the World Cup we have had 100s for >
Blundell S. Hope Dhoni Rahul Roy Babar Smith Bairstow Iman Fakhar Buttler Haris Rahmat
No point thinking about the ball, it's a batsman's game and bat will dominate again - boringly so. Heard a great radio chat with Michael Vaughan the other day where he was deeply saddened about how in favour of batsmen the white ball game has become. He urges a rethink about the ball, that surely the way cricket balls are manufactured these days one could be tailored differently via the seam to at least give the bowler a fair chance to compete on a level playing field.
Personally I hope there's a load of cloud cover and the ball swings all over the place
In other news - Windies racked up 412 against the Kiwis and Andre Russell scored 54 off 1 over... or something like that...

The problem is that every single change in the game over the last 15-20 years has favoured the batsman. The biggest though is that aside from producing pitches that look like minefields and are actually dangerous, no surface is conducive for bowlers. Even slowish, pudding pitches favour batsmen nowadays because of boundary ropes, massive bats and players built like footballers. The only time is if it’s damp and swinging or very dry and a rank turner do bowlers stand a chance in limited over cricket. Powerplays, fielding restrictions, bouncer and a fairer wide, rules have to change, for the benefit of bowlers.

Vaughan was saying that the pitches are ok, I mean we don't want to see 60 all out matches either, but the balance is so badly tilted that a change to the ball would mean skills of batter and bowler then comes into play. Even average sloggers are getting pots of runs and getting money contracts into the bargain, madness really.
