Cricket World Cup: England beat South Africa by 104 runs in opener - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/48466791
Saffers had a chance while De Kock was in, once he went it was inevitable. Good sign for England, not at their best but still a demolition job.

PAK vs WEST INDIES should be interesting. big hitting windies and their resurgent fast bowlers vs on paper a great bowling attack and inconsistent batting.

It’s on at a shit time for Aussies to see the lot. I thought RSA might struggle to chase down 310 odd, didn’t think they’d lose by 100 though. A few early wickets for WI here against Pakistan. If they can get Babar out, Pakistan is in all sorts of shit. Great bowling by Dre Russell - heavy bouncers doing the trick. As I type, Babar dropped on 12 at backward point by Hetmyer. Gotta catch those.

Pakistan have completely shit the bed here. 81/8 inside 20 overs. Some horrendous shots, but good planning by the Windies - Good well directed short pitched bowling. Some of the sides with taller, ‘heavier’ bowlers will be licking their lips at the thought of this. It’s also good to see the umpires letting the bowlers bowl them. 83/9 now

As the headline on Cricinfo said - good ‘ol chin music. Love it. Fast bowlers bowling fast, bending their backs and asking whether batsmen have the mettle and bottle for it. Absolutely nothing wrong with giving a batsman a sniff of leather, or seeing if his armpit, rib cage or better yet, fingers and throat can repel a cricket ball.

Cool - highlights of every match in the tournament on Channel 4 in UK: I love Isa Guha. Pretty, intelligent, witty, and she has that mellifluous voice. 2 summers ago she was on radio in Australia on a music station covering cricket for the first time, and she was a complete breath of fresh air in that medium. I would love to hear the triumvirate of female cricket commentary all together, Guha, Allison Mitchell and Mel Jones. When she retires, Alyssa Healy is a shoe in to be a commentator if she wants. Funny and knows her stuff.

She is good, I agree.
