Wake up call for England. You can't give away 30 runs in the field against anyone and deserve to win. Not at their best against Saffers either. Felt Root or Buttler had to go on to make 130ish to off set the fielding gimees. Hardly the end of the world though.
Lanka squeak past Afghans, all there is to say there really...

MY deadly prediction is that Indian batsmen will struggle big time if the ball moves. They will likely struggle all through the tournament and there may be many collapses. Although Indian bowling may be good at times.
My earlier prediction came true about Pakistan.

South Africa struggling against quality spin again. That reverse sweep played by vd Dussen was the worst shot I’ve seen played by a top order player for a long time.

AJ - that’s why they want to chase every opportunity they can, and have picked a squad for doing exactly that. Win toss and bat against India suits them just fine. If the ball is doing nothing, suits India even more.

South Africa playing their third match in a week and it’s India’s first? India are using their power over the ICC to pull the strings to win this tournament.

I still maintain that Australia’s selectors could kill off their chances, despite winning 8 in a row. I get this horrible feeling they will keep Marsh and Khawaja in the side with Smith and Warner and we won’t have the power hitting in the middle/lower order to turn 280’s into 330’s. That side can make the Semis, but won’t win it. A side with Stoinis and Maxwell in it can. It’s desperately unlucky for Shaun Marsh. But he just doesn’t make my top XI : I’d go with Warner, Finch (c), Khawaja, Smith, Handscomb (wk), Maxwell, Stoinis, Cummins, Starc, Zampa, Hazlewood. Marsh isn’t good enough. He isn’t good under pressure. He’ll only do well against the minnows.

Oz wilting early on under Windies pace barrage!
54/4 Smith to step up?

Smith has stepped up and is battling all sorts of dangerous stuff at the moment. Windies might prove me wrong if they win consistently. But Aus is back in the game. I sadly missed the earlier part.

What an amazing catch by Cottrell. The sheer momentum should have taken him outside of the ropes but he showed great athleticism in controlling himself.
Aus well on towards 300+

Thank God for the ICC getting rid of minnow nations from this World Cup to get rid of uncompetitive games and increase the quality of the contest. 4 games. 4 all time classic games fought on a knife's edge by these 'fair dinkum' cricketing superpowers. I mean look at the tightness of games. Well hosko, you jinxed the boring games god. Now the tournament has significantly improved since you made that comment. I hope I don't jinx the interesting game god.

WTH WI. This match was easily winnable. What was wrong with Russell? He was playing mindless shots. He could have won the game by simply running 1s and 2s.
so WI continues to be WI.

Wow...England is scoring 300 runs like its 200 runs. I wonder if there is any bowling attack that can stop them? I am surprised people think Aus vs India is a game of contenders. Aus is the real contender and I rate them almost as big favorites to win it all as England. Indians are just pretenders who will learn their lesson tomorrow.

It's such an appetising match though, wish I wasn't on night shift so I could stay up and watch it during the day (UK). No love lost, the way it should be, makes for fireworks as the Oz pacemen try and ruffle the arrogance of Dhoni and Kohli. Love It! England - Roy is frightening sometimes, he really is. Hats off to Bangers batsman Shakib, took up the fight, good man. The master Williamson to steer Kiwis safely home against Afghans.

Woah...that ball went for 6 after hitting the stumps. And I often wondered if it was just a myth that Jeff Thomson's delivery went for a 6 six after getting missed by the bat and the keeper.

Archer is special, has to be a cert for The Ashes. Thomo, legend, it was like watching Godzilla's atomic breath bowling at times!

Comfortable wins for England and New Zealand. TO be fair though, England have played on some absolute roads so far this tournament, and it shows. I’m not expecting any different until they play India or Australia. Pakistan’s chances look decidedly weaker now after a N/R against SL. Aus v Ind today will be interesting, just to see where both teams really are. I think India will win, their spinners will choke Australia through the middle order and unless it’s lightning fast, Australia’s attack won’t be giving India many nightmares, especially the third seamer and fifth option.

I thought Warner's strategy was not right. I respect his commitment and passion to perform but he should do so in his natural ways.
