India - NZ abandoned without any play being possible. Both sides lose their 100% record!

I think deep down, neither NZ nor India would be terribly disappointed in not losing and gaining a point. Big game tonight if they can get on. England v West Indies. If England win, then there is a bit of a buffer between the Top 4 (NZ, Aus, Ind, Eng) and the rest.

Yeah, unless something changes in next week you have already listed the likely semifinalists.
I wonder how Archer generates that much pace with such a not so fast run-up?

Simon Jones used to do it as well - tragic loss to English cricket that he was cut down by injuries the way he was, robbed us of a few more years of quality pace bowling.

England pissing it, no Cottrell showing off? shame shame...
Root batting serene
Hard to believe that there was much debate this last few days about who would make way for Ali to return, Plunkett or Woakes!!
Baffles the mind that does...
Root under values himself as a bowler, good job his captain didn't for this match...

England win easily, Australia win easily, and South Africa have rolled Afghanistan for 125. If India rolls Pakistan, it’s looking very much like a shootout of 4 teams.....

Every day I am increasing my ratings for Australia. They are a very balanced side with the exception of lacking a good spinner. Or at least a good spinner in form. They have destructive batsmen and mature batsman (Smith) and a pace attack which is looking like the best in the world. I believe England Australia are two strongest teams here followed by Ind & NZ. Although toss may help decide certain games.

I agree AJ - except India defeated Australia very easily. Where Australia is going to shit the bed is batting first, and they can’t accelerate because of Khawaja and Shaun Marsh in the middle order when they don’t have Stoinis in the lineup like today. India are similar, but not quite as bad. New Zealand and England though have deep batting lineups and they are also very flexible.

I am extremely fed up of Windies batsmen (especially Russell & Gayle) just throwing their wickets away. It's really a shame. They could win more games if they just don't give up their wickets in pursuit of mindless aggression.

Michael Clarke and Michael Slater on the mic, they both of the opinion that Oz - with the make up of the side - will more than likely chase 300 but will struggle to chase 330 plus if one of the big 3 (Finch, Warner, Smith) don't stay in and see it home? Don't know what Bob & Hosko think about that? Lanka were in the running for a bit, a bit of fight at least. This is evermore looking like as you all think, those 4 teams already cited. The only team any of us have not found cause to worry about imploding etc, is The Kiwis! the other 3 all have question marks in the mix. Can't wait for the Pak/India match, what Pak turns up? They bring their "A" game and it could be interesting, but anything below their best will see India coast it.

Pak win toss and bowl - gives them a chance?...

Amir is bowling well, the plonker from the other end is bowling pies. Should’ve bowled Wahab and given them some sniffers. This game will be won though by 2 things - how well Pakistan’s spinners bowl in the middle overs, and how well Fakhar and Babar play Bumrah.

I think the first warning came a bit early. Should have given him one more unofficial warning. before the first one. I agree with Bob that Wahab should have opened the bowling with Amir or at least brought on after 2 overs of Hasan. I remember the beautiful spell Wahab bowled against Aussies in 2015 WC.
Pakistani captain has recently become a bit different. He gets irritated too often. That was not his problem a couple of years ago.

Pak win toss and bowl - gives them a chance?... I think that’s a rubbish decision. To beat India you should bat first and then make them chase. If it’s a high score, they aren’t so confident and get the wobbles. See WC final 2003 and 2015 semi 😂
