@deblovesbec good picks. I'd probably swap Elisha Cuthbert for Gemma Atkinson as Powergirl.

I thought Katie McGrath would make a good Zatanna (admittedly, my knowledge of the character is limited to Serinda Swan's portrayal from the couple of Smallville episodes she appeared in).

@deblovesbec good picks. I'd probably swap Elisha Cuthbert for Gemma Atkinson as Powergirl. Thanks. Gemma certainly does have the right look for the role and I heard she has been working out a lot lately and would have the muscles to play Power Girl too but I haven't seen her act in anything before so I went with Elisha Cuthbert 'cause I have seen in other TV shows and movies like 24. Is she any good? By the way, I would have chosen an actress for Batgirl too but with Joss going with an unknown I doubt he will go with any of my choices. I think Teresa Palmer could have been good as Batgirl if she dyed her hair red and she actually said in an interview she is interested in being in one of the DC movies so I chose her as Stephanie Brown/the Spoiler but she could also play Hawkfire/Flame Bird if we ever get a Batwoman movie.

Katie McGrath could be good. Actually only that Serinda has signed on to be one of the main stars in a new Marvel TV show I think she would be a good choice to play the character again 'cause we sadly didn't get to her see her that often in Smallville. I remember there were rumours about a Zatanna spinoff show around the same time they were talking about a Supergirl/Laura Vandervoort show but like the rumoured Martian Manhunter spinoff nothing came from it.

Yeah, I think Smallville did a pretty decent job casting her as Zatanna in the show. It was a shame we didn't get more of her (and then I think in one of the last seasons they recast the role or had it be very 'vague' about who the person was supposed to be, even though all signs pointed to it being Zatanna). I hadn't known about the rumours of a Martian Manhunter spin-off from Smallville, though I had so very much wanted Laura Vandervoort to score that Supergirl spin-off which I *had* heard about, and was majorly disappointed it never happened (though I've started watching the current Supergirl show and quite enjoy Melissa Benoist in the role. She certainly has her own interpretation of the character/is putting her own unique spin on Kara/Supergirl). I would've totally watched a show with Supergirl, Zatanna and Martian Manhunter from Smallville.
Gemma certainly does have the right look for the role and I heard she has been working out a lot lately and would have the muscles to play Power Girl too but I haven't seen her act in anything
Speaking of Supergirl, I'd eagerly been keeping up with the casting rumours for the show, and I remember Claire Holt was rumoured as being up for the role at one stage, but also Gemma Atkinson. Obviously that didn't pan out. I haven't seen her act in anything either.

I'm not at all against casting unknowns in major roles. Some turn out to be really good...others, less so (but that can just as easily happy with 'known' actors too). I really do wish to see Teresa Palmer score a big franchise role. Sadly, I'm not familiar with the other characters you suggested her for, which was why I had automatically thought of her as Kara/Supergirl - as that's the one character I'm familiar with and can picture her as. I'm not sure how she'd look with red hair, but can kind of see it. I guess I just went with Emma Stone as my first choice for Batgirl as that's who immediately springs to mind when I imagine the character in live action (previously, the iteration I was most familiar with was from Batman: The Animated Series).

@deblovesbec Chalice_Of_Evil Gemmas acting is on par with Elisha Cuthbert. I've seen her in Cain Hill and Emmerdale although I have never heard her do an American accent.

Hi Chalice of Evil
Sorry for taking so long to reply. It is a shame the 'Supergirl/Smallville' spinoff didn't go through 'cause I think it would have been a lot better than the current 'Supergirl' TV show we have and Laura Vandervoort's Supergirl was far more like Kara was in the comic books than Melissa Benoist's version which is nothing like Kara and is more like a female version of Clark Kent. I don't mind the current 'Supergirl' TV show but as somebody who has been reading 'Supergirl' comic books for over 20 years it just doesn't feel like Supergirl to me. I was a huge fan of the 'Linda Danvers/Supergirl' series by Peter David and most versions of Kara and Linda were aggressive and edgy characters and it was Supergirl's attitude that was one of the main things that separated her from Clark. She is less trusting of humans and spends most of her time alone flying around in space. Kara is nothing like that in the TV show and the writers have made her into a nerd and at times the show spends so much time focusing on side characters at times Kara has become a side character in her own show. The lack of actual 'Supergirl' characters and villains has also been a problem for me and while we are finally getting some now with Reign and the World Killers as the villains for Season 3 I have been waiting for a 'Supergirl' movie so we can finally get an awesome badass version of Supergirl on screen like we have in the comics minus all of the side characters they have made for the show.
I would have liked to have seen a 'Martian Manhunter' spinoff from 'Smallville.' We might actually get one now if they spin it off from 'Supergirl' but I am not sure how it will work with him taking the identity of Hank Henshaw instead of Detective John Jones but I am sure they could work something out if they wanted to. Did you know 'Arrow' was originally meant to be a spinoff of 'Smallville' and Justin Hartley was going to be the lead? It was written in one of the 'Smallville' magazines there was a Green Arrow TV show in development with Justin Hartley but the writers changed their mind and decided to start afresh with a new cast. In some ways I think that was a good idea but I would have liked to have seen what 'Arrow' would have been like if they had stayed with the original idea and kept Justin Hartley. While I liked this season of 'Arrow' I think Justin was better at the role than Stephen Amell and his version was more like the comic book version too. I also liked Alaina Huffman's version of the Black Canary and heard the writers wanted her to become a season regular in Season 9 and 10 but was too busy being a regular in 'Stargate Universe' at the time and turned them down.
Gemma Atkinson was one of the frontrunners to be 'Supergirl' in the current show at one point. I remember reading about it online and I don't know what happened but I think they thought Melissa was better suited for their version of the character and if you imagine Gemma in the show's role she would probably look a little out of place. I think Gemma would be better for Power Girl too and Melissa has said the Legion and Power Girl are set to be in upcoming episodes so maybe Gemma might play Power Girl in the show if she does not get the role in the movies. I would like to see Mackenzie Porter play Supergirl in the movies but I am kinda bias 'cause I am a big fan of her acting and her music. Have you seen her in 'Travelers?'
Well, the Spoiler/Stephanie Brown is one of the main members of the Bat Family and is currently part of Batman's team in the 'Batman: Detective Comics Rebirth series along with Orphan/Cassandra Cain, Batwoman, Batwing and Clayface. The Bat Family has a lot of female members and some of them have gone on to have their own series like Batgirl and Batwoman. DC have said they have plans to make a solo series of the Spoiler in the near future so I think she should definitely be in the movies. They could even play out her relationship with Red Robin/Tim Drake. In most comic books Stephanie is around the same age as Barbara and with Batman in his later years in this movie I think Teresa Palmer would be right for the role.
