While Catwoman has made some progress in regaining strength and motor skills, she has plateaued. This changes how Medicare pays for her care. They'll pay for everything as long as she's progressing, but once she's no longer doing so, they will only pay for restorative care. In short, the cost of the room (which includes food and much of the day-to-day care) is no longer covered. No doubt this makes sense to an accountant.
So now Catman has to look around for other assistance in paying for her care. Fortunately, the business office person is both understanding and helpful in this regard (not at all like the people at the other facility Catwoman stayed in a year ago). Catman has a thick application form to fill out, but most of it is just lengthy explanations of the pages Catman has to fill out.
It looks for now that Catwoman will be staying in the facility for the foreseeable future. Fortunately, the staff is kind and competent, and the other residents are good company (for the most part). Catwoman is where she needs to be.
So Catman will visit her every day, and Miko will go for visits on the weekends (unless like yesterday she decides she absolutely does not want to go and hides under the bed right in the middle up against the wall).
At least the weather has finally gotten nice.

I had to hustle to clean out her house and put it on the market. Fortunately it sold fairly quickly, but when that asset has been exhausted... I was lucky, too, with an understanding business office person. It's also a good group of caregivers, and my mother has made friends; she is a very social person, and was lonely at her own house. So I think it was for the best. But I know this is difficult for you and Catwoman and the kitties. Sending purrs and hugs your way...
