The First Day of the Rest of Your Life / Air-date: 2 April 2017 / *Spoiler Warning!* This won’t be your regular review... As far as this episode is concerned, in this old horror writer’s opinion... "The Walking Dead" has not failed to deliver. Tonight's episode came through on so many different levels… -In the season finale, Sasha doesn’t make it, as Abraham persuades her that suicide is painless... -The Garbage-Pail kids arrive to Alexandria in style and Jadis shows her true colors to Rick & the Scooby-gang… And that she also has a distinct eye for a good cut of beefsteak! Negan shows up as well… -He makes a bunch of faces but leaves with his tail firmly between his legs! Michonne also shows what she’s made of and may be in need of a better dental plan! Anyway… Okay… With that brief synopsis aside, I wanted to address one particular aspect of tonight’s episode from the perspective of an older person, who’s actually over the many years has lost one too many fond friends and lovers to the Grim-Reaper... Okay kiddies... A hard life's lesson: -Sometimes when you lose your most dearest, they will appear to you in your dreams… It has been my experience that they go way too far out of their way to disguise the true nature of our reality… They convince you and affirm that their death was just some imaginings of some sort… That they are very much with you in the present tense and that they have never really left your side! They profess their love to you and their profound desire to reunite with you... This is a real phenomenon that has been documented throughout history... This is what we caught a glimpse of tonight! A very special episode indeed! -Take heed my youthful charges! For these tales could serve as reminders to you as you age and all that you have loved falls away from you… -These tales instruct us and remind us that there is very little separation between the realms of the living and... “The Walking Dead...” A fantastic wrap to a wonderful season! -And that's all she wrote.
