Literally everytime I eat ice cream I recall this limited time flavor of Ben and Jerry's that I enjoyed as a kid. What I remember is that it was advertised as a "save the rainforest" flavor, or maybe it was a "destroy the rainforest" flavor. My memory is fuzzy. Probably the former though. Anyway, the gimmick was something about the rainforest. I can't exactly remember the ingredients either, but I think there was some sort of nut in it. Please help me track down this unfathomably delicious flavor of ice cream! (That's right! I'm going waaaaaaaay off topic! Now you know why I suggested the General version of this board! )

Also! Alerting BATouttaheck, because it reminds me of an authentic Uncle Save-A-Coin story (which is somewhat reminiscent of the story about my dad and “ regular toast”): Several years before I was born, my goofball uncle had been on a long hike with my parents, and they had just gotten out of the woods and were exhausted. They went to this steakhouse in a town not too far from the trailhead and ate like starving men in a desert. Finally it was time for dessert. My uncle wanted ice cream—specifically blueberry ice cream. (“Why?” Who knows?) The waitress lists the flavors of ice cream they have: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry. My uncle smiled and said, “I’ll have the blueberry.” “Blueberry pie, sir?” “No, blueberry ice cream.” “But we don’t have blueberry ice cream, sir.” “Oh. What do you have?” Vanilla, chocolate, strawberry.” “OK. I’ll have the blueberry.” “You mean strawberry?” “No, blueberry.” “We don’t have blueberry ice cream!” “But you just said you did!” “No, I said we don’t have it!” “Oh.” It went on like that for a while until the waitress finally hammered the lack of blueberry ice cream into his exhausted head. My parents were cracking up through the whole thing. And the coda is that Ben & Jerry’s blueberry is, of course, now pushing up daisies in their ice cream graveyard, along with Rainforest Crunch.

The site has a "ressurect this flavor" link. I filled out their form with this statement...
"I loved this flavor as a young child. It's sudden disappearance was a shocking, traumatic event that permenantly scarred my psyche. My psychologist says that I will never be able to grow into a complete, mentally healthy adult until I have one last bowl of this ice cream to gain closure."

@forceghostackbar
I seem to recall that it was made with Brazil Nuts which reminds me of the play we did in High School (Charlie's Aunt) where the lady is described as coming "from Brazil... where the nuts come from !"
I was the prompter, being much too shy to appear on stage.... but I digress … sorry
Anyway …
PERHAPS some of the joys of the Rainforest could be produced by chopping up Brazil Nuts and adding them to vanilla ice cream ?
I make a granola with maple syrup, oatmeal and brazil nuts that is outta this woild and is tasty on ice cream !!

You can probably guess what your story reminds me of: Come Clean (1931) OLLIE: We'd like a quart of your best ice cream. COUNTERMAN: Yes, sir. What flavor? OLLIE: What flavors have you? COUNTERMAN: Strawberry, Pineapple and Vanilla. OLLIE: [To Stanley] What Flavor do you want? STAN: I'll have chocolate. COUNTERMAN: I'm sorry, but we're out of chocolate. STAN: Have you any mustachio? COUNTERMAN: No, we're out of mustachio. STAN: You're out of mustachio? COUNTERMAN: [angry] Yes! STAN: He's out of mustachio. OLLIE: Mm-Hm. STAN: What other flavors are you out of? COUNTERMAN: We're out of Orange, Gooseberry and Chocolate! STAN: Alright, I'll have it without Chocolate!

Personally, over obvious personal issues, I stayed away from the brand. (ya know. SJW flavors and all. One of those, the eco stuff, is one)
