I've only listened to his music from this article and a couple songs from elsewhere but I'd say he's good overall. He is more of a talk singer than a traditional singer. He has lots of symbolism in his songs and deeper meanings but his gritty deep voice isn't for everybody. If you've got the time, try out a song or two. Rolling Stone Article on Leonard Cohen

He was a great songwriter. Many other artists have covered his songs. His voice is an acquired taste, I suppose. He reminds me of Dylan in that respect - talented songwriter, decent vocalist.

You may have also heard Everybody Knows and didn't know it was him. It's been used in movies, etc.

He's the Canadian Bob Dylan (or maybe Neil Young should get that distinction)

In Canada (his home land), he was an icon.
I remember him solely for his songs "Suzanne" and "Dance Me To The End Of Love".
In fact, when he played at John Labatt Centre (at the time) in London, ON, Canada, even though I wasn't really a fan of his music, I was going to go - just to say I had seen him in concert. Tickets started at $90.00. I did want to see him, but not that badly.

Joker's Wilde Since he's dead, do you wish you had done it?

Perhaps a small portion of my conscience regrets not seeing him. But, in the grand scheme of things....not really. I only knew a few of his songs.
Good question!
