By Brian Aldiss? Loved it. My favorite Aldiss novel so far. Reminded me of Children of Men (film, I have not read the novel) but I think a better overall story. Aldiss was a very talented writer.

He might be a bit old but he is a fine actor. I read the novel when Mel Gibson was going around with a 'big bushy beard' and I always associate the main character in Greybeard with him.
