“Orphan Black” fans could soon have reason to celebrate. Variety has learned from sources that a new series set in the “Orphan Black” universe is currently in the early development stages at AMC. Temple Street Productions, which produced the original series, is onboard to produce the new series as well. Sources stressed, however, that this would not be a spinoff or reboot of the original series, but rather a completely new story set in the same world. The producers are currently seeking a writer for the project and are looking to bring in multiple people to pitch different takes on what the show could be. AMC and Temple Street declined to comment. News of the development is made all the more interesting by the fact that it is set up at AMC rather than BBC America, which aired the original in the U.S. It is still too early in See full article at Variety »

This is more puzzling than anything, unless it has some connection to Orphan Black setting it in the same universe feels unnecessary.

I'm a very latecomer to this show. I'm half way through season one by watching it on demand. So far, so good. I don't know why I didn't watch it when everyone was raving about it.

I will definitely be checking it out if it airs here in Australia but I am not sure how well it is going to go without Tatiana Maslany 'cause it was Tatiana and her performances of multiple characters that made 'Orphan Black' so popular and special and I would rather they just bring Tatiana back since she sadly doesn't seem to be doing much these days and has joined the line of wasted actresses that Hollywood and the TV industry think are too old 'cause they are over the age of 30.

I think she is a great actress and I think she would be awesome in a number of roles and would love to see her play Cassie Hack in a 'Hack/Slash' movie or TV Show or an adult Raven in the DC movies.

I'm working my way through the 5-series 'Orphan Black' at the moment and I'm some way in. It's kept me gripped all the way so far and there's so many aspects I enjoy to the show.
I'd be sure to watch a new show if there's one in development. I'm also quietly confident (not over-confident) I'll find the later episodes of the original show maintain a similar level of quality as it's something else.
