Mindhunter and other books by John Douglas/Mark Olshaker. John Douglas was an FBI profiler and the books about his cases are very interesting. Deaths Acre by Bill Bass/Jon Jeffersonis also very good. Its about the body farm. Helter Skelter by Vincent Bugliosi/Curt Gentry Ted Bundy: Conversations with a Killer by Stephen G Michaud/Hugh Aynesworth, that Netflix documentary was based on this.

ANY books from John Douglas/Mark Olshaker. If EVERYBODY read those books, there would be a lot fewer people getting murdered.

My recommendations have already been mentioned but I thought I'd give them a second vote: In Cold Blood by Truman Capote Books by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker Helter Skelter by Vincent Bugliosi and Curt Gentry Some of Ann Rule's books are worth reading in my opinion: The Stranger Beside Me Green River, Running Red Small Sacrifices etc.
