Being a customer during an armed robbery, about 10 years ago. Getting hit in the head with a rock and going to the ER 20 years ago. Being insulted by my great uncle on his death bed 5 years ago.

I once accidentally grabbed an electrified wire on a chicken enclosure on a family friend’s farm; I didn’t see it because the setting sun was in my eyes. You said shocking, so...

Twice I came close to being electrocuted. Those would have been shocking! Water and electricity don't mix. Just FYI.

I am always shocked on occasions when I have sex with a woman and she does not get pregnant with my immensely fertile CHADIAN seed.

My car was hit twice in the space of 10 minutes once, but I am not sure that qualifies as “shocking”.

Yeah, I hit a broken live wire when I was washing the bacon cabinet at my part-time supermarket job. I flew backwards and landed on the floor, expecting colleagues to rush to my aid. After lying there for half a minute and not getting the attention I was hoping for I got up and finished the task. Health and safety wasn't such a big thing during the 1970s.

Maybe they were afraid of getting to close 'cuz they might get electrocuted too...? Or maybe they were just assholes.

I’m still young and haven’t experienced as much. I’ll have to put this answer on hold.

Thanks. I got over it. It's been about a decade now. It's been almost worse for my family though than for myself.

When I was a kid, lightning struck my house when I was touching the dryer in my basement and I went flying across the room into a pile of scrap wood.

I got stood up at a restaurant the other night. I thought that was something that only happened in movies.

Being diagnosed with cancer at 28. Same here, but at age 35. But thanks to advances in medical science, I'm still here, 30 years later. That's pretty shocking, but in a good way!
