Grab all of my most beloved items, as well as enough food and other things for survival.

Catman would kiss his wife, his cats, and his ass good-bye.

As well as what? I don't get it. This poster uses the words 'as well' frequently in his thread titles - I'm not sure if it's just a habit, or if English is not his primary language.

Catman would kiss his wife, his cats, and his ass good-bye. Since I live about 30 miles away from an air force base, I assume any nuclear attack would take me out pdq. Something less apocalyptic, your general run-of-the-mill disaster with loss of services such as electricity, water, phones, etc... I could manage for a while if the weather wasn't a major factor. Rural folks are pretty good at getting by.

Probably try my hand at learning as much as I could about seamanship and travel the world on the biggest sailing yacht I could find that could be operated by one person. Just in case, assemble a small arsenal and gather as much food as I could.
Guess a lot depends on whether the apocalypse was nuclear, zombie, or biological/chemical, or just general societal breakdown.

My skill set would not be in very high demand in any post-apocalyptic scenario, unfortunately.

Release my inner psycho. I might have to kill a few people to protect my loved ones.

I learn to craft shoulderpads. I've never seen an apocalypse where they weren't popular.

Honestly, where I live in Canada, there isn't really any natural disaster waiting to happen or happening on a yearly basis like tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, flood, whatever.
The only real apocalyptic scenario I could see happen (and I'm really hoping no one is taking this as a request) is a super bacteria getting out in the wild. The way we handle public health, it wouldn't be pretty.

my friends and i have a shelter we would go to. its underground, has food, own source of water, antibiotics, generator, radio and ... some guns. and we each already have a role assigned of what we would do there and who brings what value. #prepared
