same here. yesterday i was at a screening of a lovely indie film called Diane and Michael Moore was the moderator of the after screening debate and he said he is a bit worried about cinemas eventually going extinct and I realized I would feel a real sadness if that happened, if home viewing of movies was the only available option. I dont think it will happen though. #fingerscrossed

I guess in terms of general entertainment... -Movies and the like (these got to be my all around #1) -General computers and the like (partially because this ties into movies) -Music (this is good here and there but more of a average day I tend to think movies and the like is better overall which is not surprising as it's more of a visual/audio thing and I think visual stuff is more powerful than audio in general. but I guess on the flip side music can take as little as a few minutes of your time to maybe as much as a hour or so where as a typical movie takes around 2 hours of ones time. so I guess if someones time is more limited a good song can be solid entertainment for little time spent. but then again... with movies you tend to get a experience that lasts longer, naturally, since a quality movie will be for roughly 2 hours, where as music, say your typical song, is only about 3-5 minutes. so that's a bonus for movies since it allows you to provoke solid emotion/feeling for a longer period of time in general.) -Video Games (although I will say I don't play these anywhere near as much as I used to like 10+ years ago although I would say it was probably more around 15+ years since I used to play them more heavily. but in general there are not many that can hold up well against quality movies even though there are some ill replay here and there as the years pass and still get a solid all around experience out of them. so I figure at this point in time when I do play some video games it's largely going to be games I played before in the past I don't play much of anything new anymore(there might be a rare exception once in a while though). but the last time I replayed and finished a game was in Aug 2018 which I replayed my #1 all around video game experience... Mafia (2002) (on PC) as if there is one game I would classify as a masterpiece, it's that one.) -TV (I guess putting aside the quality drama shows and the like, which I see more inline with quality movie range stuff, I think 'reality TV' can be decent here and there as it's good disposable entertainment. but I see more of those "comedy" types of shows on the major networks (ABC/NBC/CBS/FOX and the like) to be a dime-a-dozen as I would likely get bored pretty quickly watching this stuff as it amazes me how many millions of people can continually watch this crap week-after-week as once you get used to quality movies/TV shows you simply cannot watch that crap. like when I am watching those channels for say a decent reality TV show like The Voice/American Idol and the like, you see commercials advertising those random shows and they just look pretty average AT BEST. hell, it like those people who get into those dime-a-dozen types of shows, which make up the easy majority in my estimations, will probably think the average decent movie is pretty good in comparison if they are used to that standard as their norm) there might be a little thing here and there outside of what I listed above but on an average day or week or month I think what's listed above pretty much sums things up for me. NoraYeah, I agree with you as I don't see 'going to the theaters' dying anytime soon as it just seems like it's something people in general will continue to do for many generations to come (like a decent way to spend a couple of hours out of ones home with friends etc) as while it might not be as popular as it once was (due to the increasing popularity of general technology taking up some portion of time on what might have been used for theaters etc), I doubt it will reach a point to where it's pushing extinction and when you get movies making hundreds of millions of $ in the theaters I think this is further proof that the theaters are not dying anytime soon. I am surprised he thinks that way, but then again some people have too negative of a outlook on things in general and tend to always see the bad in stuff and can blind them a bit (even though I think there is the opposite end of the spectrum in that some people have a too positive outlook on things and stops them from seeing stuff that's bad out there etc). but I am sure many nowadays have technology addiction as it seems many are glued to their phones etc.
