It's hard to like a movie like SEXY BEAST. The protagonist (a retired criminal named GARY "GAL" DOVE) spends way too much time trying to convince others that he won't work in a bank heist, even though it's pretty obvious to anyone who has ever seen a movie that he'll do it. There are some cool shots, but the characters (specially DON LOGAN, one GAL's criminal associates) are unbearably annoying. 3/10 ------------------------------------- You can read comments of other movies in my blog.

Can't say I regard the film itself as a classic or anything, but I did very much enjoy it when I saw it. 7/10.

Ian McShane, Ben Kingsley and Ray Winstone all were award worthy. In fact Kingsly whom you hated was Oscar nominated. Both BK and McShane were terrifying criminals. McShane managing to be insanely menacing even compared to Kingsley's scenery chewing Don Logan. The robbery committed was merely a throwaway to set up the great performances but it would have been the centerpiece of dozens of other much less interesting movies and deservedly so. You really do have the shittiest taste in movies. You hate good stuff and love shitty stuff. Don Logan ain't got nothing on you in the unbearably annoying department. As far as your moronic rating for this movie, Don Logan said it best.

I went from thinking Al was evil personified in the first few episodes to understanding and even sympathizing with the horrible things he had to do by mid season. Considering Al ordered the murder of an innocent child in the second episode and I still ended up likinh him it says a lot about McShanes performance. The whole cast was great too maybe best ensemble cast ever so again McShane gets major points for standing out above the rest. Really looking forward to the movie. What did you think of Al and the show in general?

Let's just say that McShane's performance is proof that perfection does in fact exist. IMO, it's one of the greatest performers of all time. But yes, I do like that Al became more complex as the show progressed. It's interesting how you learn more about him as he rants while he's getting blown lol
I'm looking forward to the film too. Immensely. I don't think David Milch wants to disappoint his fans unlike a certain somebody who shares the same first name!
"Carnivale" is another that I wish would come back but for obvious reasons... it's too late. They can't have the show take place 10-15 years later.
