Looks terrible, as with most comic book movie trash.

Looks terrible, as with most comic book movie trash. Why so serious?

Damn good/creepy trailer! This looks way better than I was expecting and Phoenix looks top notch here.

Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but this looks great to me, way way better than what I expected when it was announced. I think it's also mainly the faith I have in Joaquin Phoenix, one of the best actors currently around imo.

Looks terrible, as with most comic book movie trash. This doesn't look like a comic book movie at all. Looks like Taxi Driver

Well since they’re making him more sympathetic, I wonder what they’d do with the direction of his character. I mean I don’t want the movie to ultimately have him as a good guy. That would suck.
But we’ll see. At least it’s trying to do something different.

It looks good, but I definitely have the same reservations as everyone else. That being said, making him sympathetic can work as long as he is a completely psychotic and sadistic killer with no semblance of humanity left by the end of the movie.
I kind of doubt they’ll take it that far though.

It's not like he's taking revenge on the small handful of people that attacked him – dude is hell-bent on making society collapse.

It didn't bother me that we got a brief back story in Tim Burton's version of the character. If you're going to do a movie where he is the main character, you're going to explore his life.
I also absolutely love that we had no idea who he is in The Dark Night too.
Both options have worked for me.
