When he first arrives in 1984 he has a longer hairstyle with combed bangs. When he runs through the fire before the big car chase scene, his hair gets burned down to a spiky punk looking haircut and his eyebrows are singed off. Every Terminator fan probably already knows this.
But here's my question. I just read that the first scene Schwarzenegger filmed was when he was driving the police car and searching for Sarah in that parking garage, hence he already had the burnt hair and no eyebrows. So, since this was filmed first, does that mean he was wearing a wig in all the scenes that took place before that (before his hair got burnt)?
I guess the obvious answer would be yes, unless they waited a while for his hair to grow back, which is highly unlikely. But I still find it strange because I've seen lots of pics of Arnold with the longer haircut seen at the beginning of the film throughout the 80's. It looked like his real hair and not a wig.
I also read some more trivia stating that the last scene filmed was when he broke into the station wagon, in which he had his longer hair style and eyebrows. I can guess the eyebrows grew back before they filmed the earlier scenes but does anyone know for sure?
Can anyone shed some light on this?

Maybe the short hair was the wig.

If his eyebrows grew back for the scenes with longer hair and aren't just the work of the make up department or whatever it would mean the shorter haired scenes were filmed 2 months atleast earlier than the longer haired scenes, which would make sense if Arnie had that longer style for a while back in the day, he simply cut it short for the film and then let it grow back out, his hair would grow atleast 3 inches in the time it took for his brows to grow back so maybe that's about the right length? I dunno.
Weird how as a kid I never noticed why the Terminators hair changed, I just noticed it did and I dunno just must have assumed it felt like shorter hair worked better, nor did I ever question where it got it's new clothes from, now I cannot help but wonder...

That's probably why so many people use those, "Things you never noticed as a kid" type titles for articles about movies from the 70s and 80s. I know that I can make tons of lists of things I either never noticed, or just took for granted/accepted when I was a kid watching the movie, but then as an adult I'm like, "Oh my gosh!" about them.

Maybe the short hair was the wig. You could be right. I've always wondered about this myself.
