I've seen the production budget for Infinity War and Endgame estimated at 300m-500m a pop. IW alone covered both IW and EG's production budget. It will probably cover the marketing budget for both in the first 2 days. After that pure profit. (well half the grosses.) RDJ will still take 100m+ as he gets % of gross He probably already got his 50m+ from IW, but yeah his whole tab for the two movies would be well north of 100m+

If this film makes 3 billion that would be insane.

You know, the WW opening might be slightly less than expected. In Orthodox countries( such as mine) it's the Easter Weekend, so no showings on Sunday. And also Saturday's last show begins at 16:30. It will probably make a lot in the following days/weekend

I'd say it's almost a given that it makes $2 billion again but I definitely don't think it'll touch Avatar numbers.

It came out in China before US?
$107 million in just one day too. That's actually more than the $106 million that Infinity War opened to in US which is the second highest opening day ever.

I think it will beat Star Wars: Force Awakens opening box office tally - guessing around $255 million. I don't think it will beat Avatar as the highest grossing film of all time but it should beat the Force Awakens to take the 3rd spot on the list.

AIW already opened to 258m OW for the record berating TFA 248m. AEG will break 2.5b and challenge Avatar, but it will be tough to beat TFA final domestic at 936m. Endgame will make 280m-320m OW.

With inflation The Force Awakens still has the best opening and it also did it in December. Had the movie come out in May like the older Star Wars movies then that probably would have opened to over $300 million itself. It'd really be something if Endgame could do it.
I think it can potentially out gross Avatar domestically but no way will it pass The Force Awakens. With the multiplier that Infinity War had this would need to open to like $350 million to even have a chance.
Worldwide I think it'll beat everything but Avatar and Titanic but it definitely could pass Titanic.

My guess is that this is guaranteed to take over the #3 spot from TFA, is probably going to take the #2 spot from Titanic, and has a good shot to contest Avatar for #1.

Looks like a new record for Thursday previews. Marvel Studios's Avengers: Endgame posted a record-breaking $60 million from Thursday evening previews, the highest preview gross ever ahead of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, delivered $57 million back in December 2015. The film will now begin playing in a record 4,662 locations starting today as it will surely deliver the largest domestic opening ever, the only question now seems to be just how high will it climb? www.boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=4506&p=.htm
