Scientology has clout in the film industry. They have a large center right in Hollywood. The success of some of its members attests to its efficacy. And there are also many young tryhard actors and actresses who join Scientology solely to further their careers. I thought so. There are anti-semites who say that Jews run Hollywood, but, really Scientologists are the ones who run Hollywood (I don't know if there is a name for those who are bigoted against Scientologists yet, though).

I think that's a gross exaggeration of their power. They have some clout, but in terms of Hollywood power movers they are a small minority.

Can anybody join this ridiculous cult or does one have to be a millionaire to qualify? Of course you don't have to be a millionaire, they'll gladly take your house as payment.

Elizabeth Moss, star of The Handmaid's Tale? She grew up in it so the indoctrination is well fixed I would believe. Personally I believe no parent should have the right to raise a child in any religion or cult (Honestly I see absolutely no difference between the two descriptions) as it is tantamount to child abuse as it imbeds ideas and guilts that should be made naturally amongst ones varied peers. If as an adult someone wants to join a church then fine.

Don't care who does it, if children are indoctrinated into beliefs that affect their later life then it is a form of abuse.

Do not give your kids names; do not send your kids to school; in fact, just let them go out into the world & do their own thing. Don't raise them yourself. Leave them to their own senses & choices.

Yeah, cause that's the same thing. Well done. Although I agree that giving kids names that can lead to bullying is a stupid thing to do. You really need to be able to discern the differences in indoctrination and raising.

I think somewhere we are missing the differences between raising, exposure to things and 'indoctrination'.
