I wish they could just call him Captain Marvel and people wouldnt be confused, oh well. The Captain part is apropos of nothing. It's not a rank because he isn't in any army. He should be called Champion or The Champion - like that Queen song.

Buying the rights to a character isn't as bad as stealing the character like Marvel did. When DC bought the rights to the Captain Marvel character, Fawcett Comics willingly signed the contract and received compensation in return for the character. But Fawcett Comics never received any compensation when Marvel stole the Captain Marvel character name from them. No. Fawcett published a character. They stopped. The copyright LAPSED. Atlas turned Timely turned Marvel saw there was no current copyright on the name so they created a new character & copyrighted it. You snooze, you lose, not theft in any way. ... What are you on to come up with that convoluted explanation? In a state with legal pot? I worked at Montgomery Ward. They went bankrupt. I get catalogs from "Montgomery Ward". The current entity is not the old entity. In the same way, since Mar-Vell was not in any way similar to Captain Marvel, your analogy is incorrect

Not in the movie. He doesn't get a proper alias and he can't say Shazam without transforming. Toys, maybe, because branding.
