The only new ingredient is an old Sarah Conner. I bet Hillary will be in the first row for the premiere.

I doubt it will be. Arnold isn't like the draw he used to be. Having Linda Hamilton back is nice, but it won't do much. Cameron isn't writing or directing.

I will watch it, just like I watched all previous ones - but frankly after the last two my expectations are not very high. The last one, Genysis (I actually had to look the name up, as I didn't remember it) mustn't have made a deep impression -I barely remember it!

Hope you're right poes! And I like the comparison to the recent Halloween film . So it definitely could work and be successful like that sequel. Here's hoping it delivers .

I watched it on DVD, it was ok, not great, but ok. I had never a problem with Emily Clarke...and that she plays the blonde bimbo in Game of Thrones...she is still an Einstein compared to the Winterfell bastard. I think the Christian Bale movie (the one I had to look up, and which left no impression but youtube-videos à la Hollywood Stars acts as complete asshole etc. pp. ) was the worst one for me.

The one with Christian Bale was very forgettable, I agree - the only reason I remember it a little bit better than Genysis is that I watched it twice - when it came out, and then again before Genysis came out, in order to refresh my memory, since I had forgotten all about it.

Yeah Salvation was so bad even Bale disowned it.
Bale admitted he never really wanted to star in “Terminator Salvation,” so much so that he turned down the film three times before begrudgingly accepting the role. Part of the reason he finally said yes was because so many people told him not to, which encouraged him to prove them wrong.
“I said no three times. I thought that the franchise…I went ‘Nah, there’s no story there,’” Bale said. “There’s a perverse side to me, where people were telling me that, there’s no way on God’s Earth that I should take that role, and I was thinking the same thing. But when people started verbalizing that to me, I started to go, ‘Oh really? All right, well watch this then.’ So there was a little bit of that involved in the choice.”

While I wasn't a fan of Salvation, I maintain that was the only film in the Terminator saga that tried to do something different instead of the old "cyborg from the future sent to the past to kill someone". I feel that was the right direction to go for the Terminator franchise, even if the execution sucked.

never underestimate the power of nostalgia. Halloween pressed the reset buttom and did wonders in the process. The last three movies bombed. Until I see a trailer, I don't have any reason to believe this will be different.
