Love the trailer, not crazy about the title. It's not the worst SW title (I'm looking at you, Attack of the Clones), but it's not great.

Looks great, I'll be there. I like the concept J.J. talked about of it taking place a while after TLJ (allowing the characters to grow in skill and to mature so we can see a different kind of movie than the previous 2) and the fact that it'll be a 'group adventure', which sounds similar in style to movies like A New Hope & Raiders, but with the emotional power of closing these character's 3 movie arcs.

Not sure I liked the hint that Palpatine/Darth Sidious is coming back. I hope that was just a ruse. Otherwise, it was enjoyable.

"We've passed on all we know. A thousand generations live in you now. But this is your fight. We'll always be with you. No one's ever really gone."
And just like that... I'm back in!
The wreckage of a Death Star... on what planet? The Palpatine laugh? Did something of him survive in that wreckage?

You know, I have to admit that it looks good... But I still barely care. They probably should've just let JJ make all three so we'd have some consistency.
And WHY are we on a desert planet again?! JJ is obsessed with Tatooine! (But who isn't?)
The truth is that this series is broken. And this will likely be a big retcon mess
On a side note, I recently watched The Founder, which tells the story of how Ray Krock stole the McDonald's drive ins from the original founders and then turned them into a successful, but far inferior empire. That is what Disney is doing with Lucas' Star Wars. And just like McDonalds, people eat it up regardless of quality.

You weirdo prequel fans and your revisionist history. You never even gave the new ones a chance. The second Disney bought the series, you were out - as if Lucas was still small small independent underdog. Lucas "sold out" decades ago. He milked the franchise years before Disney ever did. Books, toys, video games, it never ends (and still doesn't). That was all Lucas. It's one thing to not like a movie. That's perfectly fine and well within your rights. But all this "Disney's Star Wars" nonsense is just that: complete and utter nonsense. There's no merit to it. You people have this bizarre blind loyalty to Lucas and anti-Disney opinion that borders on cult like. The acting and effects alone are better than the prequels; which is sad since Lucas was once a visual innovator. If all you said was you didn't like the new ones and laid out reasons why, I'd accept it. But all this Lucas vs. Disney crap, nope. No validity to that statement. He sucks. He's sucked since the 90s. The man hasn't made (or been involved in) a good movie since Willow.

I didn't hate TLJ, but it was easily my least favorite of the new ones; including the spinoffs. I LOVE some scenes in it, think some others are painful and awkward to watch, and think the movie drags at times. I didn't think I'd be this excited for the next one. I didn't even know the trailer came out yesterday, which is so uncommon for me, until someone tagged me on FB.
But what I watched it, I got goosebumps. Several times. After more than one viewing. That shot of her doing that flip and the music kicking in...WOW. And Billy Dee Williams?! I can't express in words how happy I was to see him. I was so happy and overwhelmed to see his face. I didn't know he was coming back. I don't know if it was common knowledge and I wasn't paying attention, but I'm glad I didn't. That was just such a happy feeling that only comes with a good surprise. And the ending?!?! JJ sure knows how to cut a trailer. Glad he's back! It looks like the fun factor is back again.

Nostalgia cash grab and nothing more. I despise their arrogance in thinking they can pull me back in by using George Lucas' creations (like Lando and Palpatine) because their own lack any depth or soul.
Also, the title of the movie is an insult to us Luke Skywalker fans. First they humiliate him, then they kill him off, and now they go with a title for the movie like that? Honestly...I don't use foul language often but they can fuck off. I'm so done with their Star Wars movies.

I feel nothing. Exactly the same reaction I got from the Last Jedi trailers.

Yes, Lucas sold out by creating the SE and obsessing with toys, but he was still the original creator and the prequels, regardless of quality still had a soul. Disney Star Wars is cash grab garbage, thrown together without a plan or a vision. It has no creative integrity and is as hollow and corporate a product as you will ever see.
