I felt Revenge of the Sith was good actually, maybe it should've ended at that. I thought the final scene of Vader crying out was a bit of a cringe. Imagine if he'd simply stood there, crushing and destroying everything in the room in silent grief and rage. However, it was no worse than the rest of the trilogy. That final battle between Anakin and Obi-Wan looked so silly and over-the-top, it actually bored me. Too much CGI, too little consideration and thought. I liked the volcanic fight scene was good for what it was and revenge of the sith was in my most humble (and you know I don't do humble) of opinions the best of that prequel trilogy.

What does the title at the end of the trailer mean?
(The title of this episode.)

The biggest issues with this new trilogy is a lack of direction vision. Different directors and different writers. There is no road map outlined for the series like Marvel has done...Abrams made a mediocre film in TFA and had his plot points setup for the sequel. Then Rian Johnson comes along to "subvert the fans expectations" and retcon all those points and dump on the OT. Now Abrams is basically gonna retcon the retcons that Rian Johnson made. Ok, but let us not pretend that the original trilogy was planned out and wasn't retconned to all hell, especially about the Luke/Vader, Luke/Leia family ties. There is no indication in ANH that Vader is Luke's (or Leia's) father, and expository dialog is given to indicate the opposite. And then Leia and Luke in ESB.... Well, you know. I'm all for bashing the sequel trilogy, but let us be consistent in our criticisms.

Unless they retcon it, Luke's a force ghost. That's horseshit. They missed the big chance to have Luke follow in his fathers footsteps. That's what's wrong with the new Star Wars.. their villains suck. ..Darth Vader casts a long shadow. "They missed the big chance to have Luke follow in his fathers footsteps. This trilogy has got to be the most overhyped nonsense I've ever seen. Episode 7 was terrible just a remake basically. Episode 8 was indeed absolute garbage. With Abrams back behind the camera it should at least be average..... i Hope.

Nah, if you enjoyed the film, good for you. I've just never been a huge STAR WARS fan... I'm more of a Trekker and a Whovian... Or at least I was until recently.

You are quite out there there to hold them to the same standard and suggest my criticism is inconsistent. Lucas didn't know if there was gonna be a sequel let alone a trilogy and his universe hadn't even been fully realized yet Thats quite different from a plus 30 year established franchise with expansive lore and a fully realized universe that was bought by Disney..

Nah, it'll just regenerate... That's the problem. As a Whovian, I wanted it to end properly, at the end of the Doctor's natural life cycle - when Matt Smith left. Every good story needs a beginning, a middle and an end.

I'm not boycotting them, that's a monetary protest. I'm just not interested in the product anymore and will not be purchasing it.
I gave up after REVENGE OF THE SITH. To be honest, I thought that six films was a good place to stop. I agree. I have seen some of the other ones...but with none of the enthusiasm. I've given the franchise all the fandom it has earned in my opinion...and it was not small...but it's over.

The “camera pulls away as he screams”NOOOOOO” move is such a mocked cliche I thought Lucas was trying to be comical.

I still have difficulty now, reconciling that whiny little prick with that towering giant in the black mask and cape... I can't take Vader seriously anymore. Vader: "I find your lack of faith disturbing..." Me: "And I find your lack of acting ability as Anakin disturbing... So shut the fuck up!"

Yeah casting a charismatic actor you could get invested in would have made such a difference when he got corrupted. HC has all the emotive power of a piece of wet cardboard. Combine that with Lucas’ dialogue and OY.
