It's funny. People I talk to seem to like these movies alright. Not to the extent of Pixar or Dreamworks on a good day, but just enough. Yet they don't seem willing to see these movies.

Well it looks like crap for starters. I've been binging a show on Hulu for a couple of weeks, and I'm so damn tired of seeing ads for this I have to restrain myself from throwing things at the TV.

Chilly-Tee!
His father spent a lot to try to promote his music career. He seemed to have more of a knack for animation.

For those who've seen Laika's other films you can talk about them in the thread here: link

The beginning of MISSING LINK is a cross between AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS and ATLANTIS: THE LOST EMPIRE. Don't worry. The rest of the plot doesn't copy them nor any other movie... directly. Instead, writer/director Chris Butler pulls out a big bag of clichés to cover more ground, so it's unoriginal in a different way. In fact, there's no creativity until the (exciting) climax. The production values are as good as you'd expect from Laika, but the comedy is painfully unfunny. Some of the jokes are like my relatives' foreheads: You can see them coming from a mile away. 3/10 ------------------------------------- You can read comments of other movies in my blog.
