For those of you who don't know the final episode of 'Gotham' is going to air this week and they have just released an extended trailer for it which you can watch below and in the trailer we get to see Bruce as Batman, Barbara Gordon and her mother, Barbara Kean with red hair like she has in the comic books, an older version of Penguin and Selina Kyle being played by an older actress among, Jerimiah in his new Joker form among other things. I have to say I am REALLY excited about this episode and can't wait to see how it ends. I am happy they brought Barbara Gordon into it 'cause she is a big part of Jim, Bruce and Gotham's history and it wouldn't be the same without her. What are your thoughts on the trailer and the decision to change the actress playing Selina? ‘Gotham’ Trailer: Batman Begins As Fox’s Prequel Series Ends This Thursdaydeadline.com/2019/04/gotham-trailer-batman-begins-as-foxs-prequel-series-ends-this-thursday-1202600012/‘Gotham’: Lili Simmons to Take Over Catwoman Role from Camren Bicondova for Finalecollider.com/gotham-finale-catwoman-recast-lili-simmons/#images

I am greatly looking forward to it. I have loved this show from the beginning and I can't wait to see what the city of Gotham is like when Batman arrives. This is one of the best superhero shows ever and I will be rewatching it for years to come. I'm not going to watch that trailer yet because a 3 minute trailer might have too many spoilers.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner on this Taylorfirst1 but I have been sick as I mentioned on another post. Have you seen the final episode of 'Gotham' and what did you think of it? I was kinda disappointed that we didn't get to see Bruce as Batman more and apart from the end part where they showed him up close we mostly only saw quick flashes and glimpses of him from behind and his shadow and the final scene with him and the Joker would have been so much better if they had them actually fight each other and not just had Bruce throw a Batarang with him. I was also disappointed they didn't get Harvey Dent back for a small appearance and had some other villains like Roman Sionis (Black Mask) make small appearances but I didn't hate the episode. I think it would have been better if it had been a 2 hour finale 'cause they could have done more in it and it felt kinda rushed but overall I was happy with the way it ended and that we got to see Barbara Gordon and she showed she was a fighter young trying to take on the Joker herself. I didn't mind the new actress they got to play Selina either and I can see why some fans were disappointed with changing her but it was a decade later and I think they should have changed Bruce too.
Have you heard the writers are working on a 'Catwoman' spinoff? I would love to see it FAR more than 'Pennyworth' and I hope they get to make it but I am not sure if they will keep the same actress or it will be connected to 'Gotham.'

First off, I love DC, everything, comics, video games, movies (mostly), etc. But I really don't watch any DC or Marvel TV shows. I either miss the important first season, or I don't have Netflix ha. But, I did catch "Gotham" since S01 E01 first aired. I loved its teasers, trailers, leading up to it's pilot. Immediately, I liked the show. The cast, colors, villains, acting, plots etc. All of it. I've always been a Batman fan, I think as a kid it was Superman, but I'm mostly all Batman now. So this prequel of a tale was intriguing and told rather neatly. Barbara Kean, played by actress Erin Richards was instantly my fave. What a beauty. Never in my wildest comic dreams did I picture her becoming a villain, and villains I love. She rocked her part beginning to end and I love that she was with the show beginning to end.
Flaws? I don't like to complain about a show, especially one I watched weekly for it's entirety, but I do see why the show ended. A lot of it was feeling repetitive, as in, nobody really died aside from thugs and side characters. I loved season 1, season 2, and several things about season 3 were entertaining. But overall the show lost my full attention from that point on. Even season 5 seemed to just fly by. If I owned the show at all, it'd be those first two seasons, maybe season 3. Overall, I'd rate the show as 6.5/10. Those early on seasons though, I'd give it a rating of 8/10. Also, I didn't like how they changed the origins to most of the characters, like Solomon Grundy for one random example. I get it, TV series, prequel show and what not. But I loved the villains who felt most real, familiar to me. You can't say enough about The Riddler and Penguin, and the performances given there. Even Joker, both Jokers, was handled nicely. I can't bash Joker, even in this.
It is sad it's over, but I'll accept it. It's better it ends than to lose all attention and fan base. The final episode, was an okay close to the show. I expected more Batman but I saw this ending/closing sequence of him. And I actually really liked actress Lily Simmons as Catwoman. I don't know her acting work, but I definitely want to see more. She was my favorite thing about the finale. Season 5 is a bit muddled all over, I disliked the Bane character, but I loved Ventriloquist and Scarface. I didn't ever read or watch for spoilers, so I got the surprise and entertainment value per episode. There's a lot I would've changed about the show, later seasons, but it's not worth getting into now. I liked it, and I'll always remember it. When the final episode aired, it made me remember chats I used to have with a friend, who I lost contact with. So, I was sad to see the series end, for nostalgic purposes. But again, I'm glad the show did what it did, what it offered us, what it gave us, it was a fun five years of "Gotham". And well hopefully people continue to mention it, via IMDB2. I'm happy to see people talk about it and miss it on this website. Already miss you Erin Richards!

It is a shame they didn't make it a movie length episode 'cause they would have been able to do more with it and with the show being cut so short this season compared to the previous seasons you wouldn't think the network would have had a problem with them having a 2 hour finale. I still liked though and I am re-watching the older seasons of 'Gotham' on DVD now and when ranking it with the other DC TV Shows I would say it was my third favourite below 'Lois and Clark' and 'Smallville' and just above 'Wonder Woman.' Have you seen all the other DC Shows taylorfirst1 and how would you rank 'Gotham' to the other shows? I can't speak with explicit authority, but I don't think the network necessary has that much of a say in whether or not the series had a two-hour finale. At least not, I think, in the way you're thinking. The network says how many episodes they would get in a given season and when those episodes will air, but the writers determine how to pace the stories and how they make use of that episode count; and by all accounts, if the writers had wanted the finale to be an extended length they arguably could have by starting it with the penultimate episode. That's all two-hour episodes are when you get down to it; it's not a single episode the network allows to run longer than usual, it's two episodes and the network would decide whether to air those two episodes back to back to give the appearance of a longer, contiguous episode, or air them a week apart, but it's still ultimately counted as two separate episodes that would get broken up as part 1 and part 2 in syndication. So even if the network gave them an extra episode, the writers would have to decide to use it for that purpose, but my main point is that the network wouldn't have had to do that. If the writers had been so inclined, they could have used the last two episodes and either not told one of the stories they had done that season, or find a way to pace everything so that they still told all the stories they wanted to tell in the last season and still have the last two episodes clear to use for the finale. The network couldn't have stopped them from doing that. At best, if they wanted to be dicks, they'd just refuse to show the episodes back to back, but the writers invariably had that option if they wanted to do that.

The Adventures of Superman Batman (66) Wonder Woman Superboy Lois and Clark Birds of Prey
All of the Arrowverse shows (of course) Gotham.
It would be really hard for me to rank them because they are very unique. Gotham is certainly near the very top of my list but Batman is probably my all time favorite. The only one I haven't seen much of is "Smallville". I've probably actually seen about 10 episodes total. I hope that someday I have time to watch the whole thing.

And I actually really liked actress Lily Simmons as Catwoman. I don't know her acting work, but I definitely want to see more. She was my favorite thing about the finale.
I still have yet to watch my Blu-rays of Seasons 3 & 4. Eventually Season 5 will be released here, I imagine, but I ended up stumbling upon the final scene from the Gotham series final on YouTube and was surprised/delighted to see Lili Simmons playing grown-up Selina Kyle/Catwoman. I know her from the TV series Banshee (as well as a few other things I’ve seen her in). She certainly makes an impression. If you're interested in seeing more of her in a show, I’d recommend the series.
Already miss you Erin Richards!
Thanks for the Erin Richards GIFs. I really liked what I saw of her/the direction she was heading in Season 2, and look forward to seeing more of her.

And I agree, Lili Simmons makes a wonderful impression. It's hard for me to get into TV series like I mentioned in my first post. I miss the beginning and then it's all backtracking from there, ha. One day I hope! And I hope I didn't spoil anything for seasons 3 & 4 of Gotham for you. I can talk a lot and not think about spoilers on this website. I write and off I send it, ha.
Looking back at season 3, quick glance. I don't dislike it entirely. I think season 4 dragged a bit, where it could've avoided the drag, but oh well. But I do remember season 3 keeping me entertained for most of the season. Here's just a quick teaser for The Mad Hatter's introduction in season 3 of Gotham. No big spoiler, just a really good teaser.

I've turned a lot of people on to it over the years. The Banshee board on the old IMDB was one of my favorites when the show was in season. Lili Simmons is always a delight. She managed to seduce both "Lucas Hood" and Marty Hart despite both cops having other hotties as lovers.

I liked the finale just for being "Gotham," although I felt it had it's share of flaws, an increasingly common problem towards the end of this show's run. The whole Jeremiah thing was an anti-climax. I know they had limited time to wrap up every story line, but that was too quick. I thought they went too far in turning Ed and especially Oswald into their comic book selves, although I'm glad they had major screen time, not just because of the stature of the characters in the Batman universe, but because I love the actors. I liked the actress who played adult Selina, but wish they could have just used Camren. I liked how Alfred P. looked aged, but some of the others looked like not a single day had passed since the last episode. Lastly, I love Erin Richards and Barbara Keane, but I felt that she should have died for dramatic purposes. Would have been a good set up for Barbara Gordon becoming Bat Girl, after all.

No, don't worry about spoilers for seasons 3 & 4 of Gotham. I'm so far behind with it that by the time I get around to watching those seasons, I'll probably have forgotten most spoilers I read anyway (plus, I knew that if I ventured into a thread about the series final, that I was bound to read spoilery stuff. I did so willingly, so it's on me ). Thanks for the vid and your thoughts on the show. Banshee was such an awesome show. I've turned a lot of people on to it over the years. @deblovesbeccy ... Hi Debs . What do you think of the new series coming out, "Batwoman"? Starring the actress Ruby Rose. When I saw the teaser for it, I immediately thought of the TV series "Gotham". And you, ha. And since the series is coming out on the same CW network, I imagine it'll take a very similar atmosphere and approach to it's characters. I don't know how well it'll do, since it's not Batman and Det. Gordon driven, but I'll for sure give it a try.
And it's okay if you start a post about it, I'll read a response there. Thank you for the 'follow', my friend.

Sorry for taking so long to reply to this post. I just want to say first it is nice to come across another DC fan who reads the comic books on here and I am a big fan of Batman too and the Bat Family in general and I have collected a lot of 'Batman' comic books and graphic novels over the years along with the Batgirl, Nightwing, Birds of Prey, Teen Titans, Batwoman, Red Robin, Red Hood and the Outlaws, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Azrael, Batman Incorporated, Talon, Grayson, Gotham Academy, Gotham Central, Gotham By Midnight, We Are Robin, Gotham City Garage, Batman: White Knight and Gotham City Sirens spin offs (Gail Simone's 'Batgirl' series is my second favourite comic book series of all time) and I love all the Bat Family members like Batgirl, Nightwing, the Spoiler, Orphan, Batwoman, Bluebird, Red Robin, Red Hood, The Signal, Clayface, Azrael etc etc and have been waiting to see a lot of them finally get a chance to appear on screen along with the dozens of Batman villains we haven't seen. I grew up reading a few comic books like Batman, The Phantom, Wonder Woman, Archie and Superman but it wasn't until the 'Supergirl/ Linda Danvers' series and 'Witchblade' I really got into comic books and then I started collecting a lot of them and I mostly got the ones under DC and Image Comics.
I have liked some of the Live Action Batman movies we have had over the years but I find myself enjoying the animated movies even more and you didn't mention those so I am not sure if you watch many of them but I think the animated movies have been better than most of DC's live action movies and I liked 'Reign of the Supermen' and 'Justice League vs. the Fatal Five' which came out recently and I am looking forward to seeing 'Wonder Woman: Bloodlines' and 'Batman: Hush' among others. I loved the 'Arkham' games and out of all the adaptions we have seen of Batman those are probably my favourites and 'Arkham Asylum', 'Arkham City', 'Arkham Origins' and 'Arkham Knight' were all great games and one of the things I liked about them the most was what they were able to do with the villains and even though some of their appearances were only short or they could be defeated easily DC's versions of The Joker, The Penguin, Killer Croc, Clayface, Lady Shiva, The Scarecrow, Deathstroke, Solomon Grundy, Two Face, The Riddler, Poison Ivy, Ra's al Ghul etc were awesome in those games and when adapting the characters for movies I think they should partly take inspiration from some of them.
I agree with a lot of the things you have to say about 'Gotham' and while there were some things I was disappointed with I think that it was a fun and entertaining show overall and it did go down in quality a little in the later seasons and I can see why some fans didn't like it as much as the earlier seasons but I liked all of it as a whole. What they did with Solomon Grundy was disappointing and it could have been better if they had made him much bigger and scarier and more like he is in the comic books and video games but I think the two biggest disappointments were their versions of Mr Freeze and Poison and I say that as somebody who is a fan of Maggie Geha but what they did making her go from being a little girl to an adult that quickly didn't work that well for the character in my opinion and if they had wanted an adult Poison Ivy I think they should have introduced her as Dr Pamela Isley or as a University student who was studying plants and was an eco-terrorist. With Mr Freeze I didn't like how they killed off Nora 'cause Nora has always been such a big part of the character and the main reason he becomes a villain is to save Nora and he isn't usually depicted a criminal who does the things he does 'cause he enjoys them and he helps Batman stop other criminals when they are trying to destroy 'Gotham.' In 'Gotham' I feel they just made him into a very 2Dsh villain at the end who was only a henchmen for the Penguin and not really his own character and they could have done so much more with him.
As for Batwoman, I am looking forward to seeing the show and I wasn't overly impressed with the trailer but I think it could turn out to be a lot better than what some people are saying it will be and it does look similar to 'Gotham' and what has me excited is I heard they have plans to introduce Kate's cousin and sidekick, Bette Kane (Hawkfire/Flamebird) into the show later along with some other Bat Family members and they are going to start out as regular people to begin with and eventually put on the costumes and as a Bat Family fan I think this show is the one that they could use to finally let us see many of the other Bat Family characters that haven't been in the other movies and TV Shows and not to mention, think about how many villains they will be able to use. There are a huge amount of villains in the Bat Universe and only a small amount of them were used in 'Gotham' and we could get Clayface in this as a villain who switches sides in the latter seasons and becomes a hero since he was in a number of 'Batwoman' comics but the budget of the show might prevent him from being used unless they plan on going all out. I am still surprised over them not using Maggie or Renee as Kate's love interest and don't get that part at all 'cause those are the two characters most well known for their relationships with Kate and I am wondering if Renee being in the upcoming 'Birds of Prey' movie and 'Supergirl' already having a version of Maggie being played by an actress who might not be able to return played a part in that.

Could also be they just don't want to rush into doing that character as well, I mean look at Arrow they rushed into the Laurel/Oliver stuff and fucked it up before they even started, then theres also that thing where most people do not care about the love interests, very few people outside the hardcore comic readers know who the heroes love interests are, not like Batwoman has appeared in much media outside of the comics, atleast Green Arrow Black Canary had JLU to inform people of that and the teasing of the relationship in Smallville.
With Batwoman & Titans looks like fleshing out the Bat fam could be relatively easily done, I just hope they don't do the typical oversaturation of heroes to the show, always ends up causing a situation where the title hero is basically playing filler for their own show for much of a season, as for Clayface my guess is they will do him like J'ohn and just have him take human form for 90% of the characters screen time if they choose to use him.

Sorry for taking so long to reply to this post. I just want to say first it is nice to come across another DC fan who reads the comic books on here and I am a big fan of Batman too and the Bat Family in general
Thank you for your long response! You never have to say sorry, it's quite alright. And onto a full reply.
Not to disappoint you, but I'm not the biggest DC comic book fan. But I know enough. And don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan, but my knowledge only goes so far lol. I think I know old DC more than new DC. I know enough and whenever I get a chance to learn something new, I jump on it, sadly there's just so much out there it's hard to keep up with everything, ha. Out of 'DC Comics' and 'Marvel Comics', I know Marvel Comics vastly more. Of course I know all of the big names of DC, old and new. I know baddies more than I know every hero that's come out in the Batman or Superman world. Out of every name you listed of characters in your post, there's only a few I didn't know. I'll look them up when I have a minute.
My dad got into comics as a young adult, the early '80s, which I believe is considered the tail end of the bronze age of comics. Comics such as "Amazing Spider-Man #100" and on. "Uncanny X-Men #190" and on, etc. Mostly Marvel as I said. So that's where my knowledge of comic books begins. Anything I read or learn about today comes from online or just what I can get into. I own some graphic novels but not nearly as much as I'd like. The last graphic novel I bought was for "The Walking Dead", which is non DC and Marvel but a huge fave, too. I do remember the release of "Witchblade" and all of those other mid-90's Image comics. "Spawn" is one of my favorite comics and characters ever. I rank him right up there with other favorite '90s characters that came out in the '90s such as 'Lobo', 'Harley Quinn' and 'Deadpool'. Bunch of fun anti-hero type characters.
I really love the Tim Burton "Batman" movies as well as Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" movies. The ones in-between those I only like because I grew up loving movies in the mid-90s. Same goes for the Christopher Reeve "Superman" movies, the first couple for sure. And I really liked Henry Cavill as Superman in "Man of Steel", but the second movie dropped for me. I have yet to see "Justice League". DC & Marvel movies are very hit and miss for me. I completely agree with your opinion about the Batman & Superman animated movies. I haven't watched them all but a majority I have. "Superman/Batman: Public Enemies" and "Superman/Batman: Apocalypse" were my two most favorite animated films with those two heroes. The villain appearances and cameos in "Public Enemies" was awesome, and 'Supergirl' & 'Darkseid' in "Apocalypse" was amazing. I do love and will watch the newest animated movies as they come out. Marvel animated cartoons, honestly, have nothing on the DC animated everything. My opinion. My favorite three Superman villains are: 'Darkseid', 'Metallo' and 'Lex Luthor'. My favorite three Batman villains are: 'Joker', 'Clayface' and 'Mr. Freeze'.
I have not played the "Arkham" games, only because I got into PlayStation 3 waaay late. I have a lot of video game systems, like almost a dozen systems from prior years, I basically waited until PS3 came down in price, now you can get games dirt cheap for it. I'm currently picking up games left and right, and I have yet to get into those. Hopefully I can in time. I do know the graphics, plotlines and gameplay of the games, they're perfect really. I also know the game "DC Universe" and the many characters in that game as well are phenomenal. Really great storytelling for video games. The live-action movies, in my mind, can't even come close to these kinds of video games. It's a time of reimagining superheroes and super-villains in movies these days, as well as in comic books. I don't know if you ever watched "Batman: The Animated series", in the early to mid-'90s. There was also "Superman: The Animated series", "Spiderman: The Animated series" and "X-Men: The Animated series". I grew up watching those and absolutely loved them! The Batman series especially. I think the "Batman" series alone lives by itself as a true masterpiece series. Voice actors Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill are the real Batman and Joker as far as I'm concerned. All Batman movies animated or live-action should've taken note from this cartoon series since it was released, my opinion.
And I completely agree with you about the other flaws in the "Gotham" TV series. I forgot to mention Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy on those exact points you mentioned. They could have and should have been two power houses running the show alongside Penguin and The Riddler, but instead had just become hired hands for side jobs. Meh. Sadly I don't know a whooole lot about Batwoman. I know the basics, but not any of her main alliances, struggles or battles involving plots and origins. I'm hoping CW has learned where "Gotham" failed and where it can correct itself to greater lengths story-wise. That's all I want to see, too, more characters and great storytelling. Even if it's a character I don't know at all, if I know they're based on a comic book and are beloved by fans, I'm reading all about them asap. Lol, I can only dream to see my favorite Batman villain, 'Clayface' in a TV series, respectfully. But heck, at this point, I'd be happy just to see someone new and fresh who hasn't been in anything as far I've watched. Someone like Duella Dent aka 'Joker's Daughter'. I find her fascinating and she's moved up my radar of favorite villains. Lol... I'm sorry for the loooooong reply message. But enjoy until next time, my Batslover friend.

Well, I finally got started on my Gotham Season 3 Blu-rays this week. I’ve watched five episodes thus far, three with the Mad Hatter. They were pretty good. Though all I could recall of his character from what I’d seen in Batman: The Animated Series (and the comics I used to read which were drawn in the same style as that show) was that he had a thing for a girl named Alice who he liked to dress as Alice in Wonderland (though I can’t say I remembered the part about her being his sister – that seemed new to me). I was sad to see her bite it at the end. It was disturbing, but I thought this was a pretty neat shot... Of course, in episode five he grabbed some random blonde, dressed her as Alice, acted all creepy and then offed her. So I guess that’s his thing. I’m not really sure where they’re going with him next, but the actor playing the part is pretty good. It’s always nice when guest stars leave an impression. I get the feeling Lee isn’t particularly popular around these parts, but I myself approved of her punching Nygma. I agreed with what Barnes said: “Well done, doctor.” I’m annoyed that I’ve only gotten two episodes with Maggie Geha’s grown-up Ivy thus far. This show has got to have one of the biggest casts of ‘regulars’ in any show I watch (I think there’s 15 in total – I’ve been counting them at the start of each episode). I’m starting to get back into the show after a LONG gap between when I finished Season 2 (which was the last season to air on live TV here, and I think that was at least a couple of years ago).
