As adults, itβs not every day that we try something we had never tried before. The idea for this thread occurred to me just now as I was eating a passion fruit for the first time in my life. I mean, I had eaten sweets and yogurt made with passion fruit, and drinks made with passion fruit juice, and even a passion fruit-flavoured beer, but I had never eaten an actual fresh passion fruit until today. I saw them for sale at the grocery store yesterday and thought βwhy not, I will give it a tryβ. Pretty good taste, although itβs not very filling β the shell is not edible and the pulp and the seeds donβt amount to much.
Before that, I am not sure. Maybe umeshu, a Japanese plum liquor β but that was about two years ago. There must have been something else in the meantime that I canβt remember right now.
What about yours? It can be a fruit or vegetable, a type of meat, a dish or a drink.

I tried some of this frozen Birds Eye Alfredo Chicken for the first time a few nights ago. It was pretty lame (it comes with this frozen cube of wimpy sauce that has to be melted into the ingredients as you cook it). I found that the only solution is to just add your own Alfredo sauce to it after you cook it. But after doing that, it wasn't bad.

I tried hakarl in Iceland. It didn't actually taste as awful as I thought it would be (similar to pickled sushi, if I had to describe it), but the texture of it was something that will haunt me for the rest of my days.

I would say Korean food like two years ago, I think.

I would say Korean food like two years ago, I think. Korean food is becoming really popular of late. There are Korean restaurants all over the place here, even in mall food courts! I am a fan! Dolsot bibimbap is my favourite Korean dish.

Another first for me today: a blood orange. I had never seen them for sale here before. It's an orange but darker and less sweet. I liked it.

Tried this today for the first time: Rougette Bavarian Red cheese. Like the label says, it's creamy and buttery, but has a nice cheesy tang to it, sort of like a Brie. Very good stuff! (let come to room temp before eating it... brings out the flavor)
nutsberryfarm π: you'd like that, I guarantee it!

I tried a Monte Cristo sandwich for the first time a few weeks back. Felt like I was gonna have a coronary.
