Read the article. I'm skeptical there will be torrents of tears even if they kill off Poe, Finn and Rey. Finn might be the most likable of the 3 and he's an emasculated borderline cuck.

Good News: John Boyega says The Rise of Skywalker likely his final Star Wars film Good for him. He was kinda cool as a First Order deserter in TFA, but they turned his character into a joke in TLJ. Literally - he starts out wearing a leaky plastic bag. Then when he tries to do something truly selfless and heroic, he's stopped by a janitor. As for what happens in IX, I couldn't care less.

Y'know, the issue of Rose stopping him from killing himself keeps coming up and I kinda don't get the gripe.
A) We all KNOW he wasn't going to die in that scene/movie. Even if they wrote it out some other way, there was no chance they were going to kill him.
B) Even if they did decide to kill him in that scene, do we all really think that one little measly aircraft that was already falling apart was going to destroy that big ass canon? Maybe, but I don't think so.
C) What's so bad about someone saving someone they love? I know, I know. They hadn't established that they were in love. But that's what happened. She was in love with him and didn't want him to throw away his life needlessly. As for her falling in loving with him, characters fall in love easily and quickly in fantasy movies. I know its a measly excuse, but there you have it.
Should they have written it differently? Probably. But there it is. I don't see why she gets SO MUCH hate.

I thought Poe was more likeable? Did Rian ruin that? Not IMO. IMO I thought Poe was the only cool one in the whole movie. Even if you disagree with what he did, at least he took action.
Finn, I felt, was just there for the ride. And I didn't feel Rey progressed much further than where she was at the end of TFA to be honest.

Of course he’s a fail character. Name one comedy win that he had. He tried enough but it was always lame AF. Also he’s a prat on Twitter.

- Rose's love of Finn seemed forced and unrequited to me
- It was just another example in TLJ where every male character is portrayed as evil, incompetent, or both

Fair enough. You have your reasons.
1) I don't know if the term Deus Ex Machina applies, but I get what you're saying. 2) Agreed, but its a Star Wars movie. If you really think about it what love story has been REALLY developed? Even Han and Leia were on the Millennium Falcon for what seemed like only a few days... 3) Disagree. But that's another story.

It's the internet. The Canto Bight scenes are the weakest segments from TLJ and I guess people see her as the symbol of that.

I see what you mean, but at least Han and Leia had chemistry together - maybe because Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher were great actors, maybe because they actually had a fling in real life. Either way, their chemistry was undeniable. The same can not be said for Finn and Rose.

Trying to making a romance out of this is going to be messy.
