Rob Zombie (Born: January 12, 1965 in Haverhill, Massachusetts, USA)
Rob Zombie & Ozzy Osbourne
Rayna & Nadja enter the Coal Chamber
.
Rob Zombie is in the metal band White Zombie. Some of us used to dance to his music at punk-metal-goth nights in the 1990s in after dark clubs. He's from Massachusetts but shoots most of his films in California, utilising a range of locations that exhibit the state's diverse scenery. He returned home to shoot footage for 'The Lords Of Salem' (2012) and had a fun time. Lately, he's been pushing the Roob Zomboogey and teasing fans with information snippets regarding his latest project, '3 From Hell' (2019 projected release). With a solid stock company, access to top industry technicians, relatively decent funding (by genre standards) and a fervent multi-media fanbase, Zombie's established himself as one of the leading horror filmmakers of his generation and a key figure in 21st century horror cinema.
What are some of your favourite Rob Zombie movies?
Thanks.

I greatly enjoy his take on Halloween and Halloween II.
One small complaint - I didn't like the way he cast Laurie Strode - the actress (not her fault) was over the top annoying to me.
I love The Devils Rejects and House of 1,000 Corpses.
Wish he would have done the rumored movie on 'The Broad Street Bullies' - the '74/'75 Flyers teams who used to kick the crap out of the opposition. Movie got pulled for some reason a couple of years back after he was working on it.
Awesome song - one of my favorites I run to:

I like his 'Halloween' movies which plough their own course. Entertaining, with that spiritual dimension he favours that some viewers find laughable or deserving of scorn.
I prefer 'The Devil's Rejects' to 'House Of 1,000 Corpses' which I intend to revisit now, some 16 years after the fact. I found 'House' a bit messy and eccentric. 'Devil's' works as straight-up excess, at times drenched in delirium, gleeful in its own derangement.
The 76ers are looking strong, you must be pumped. I'm hoping the Blue Jackets can continue to defy the odds.
Colossal riff on that tune.

I have a few of Rob Zombie's movies on dvd and enjoy them all. If I had to pick a favourite, I'm not sure which I'd pick. I just find them generally entertaining. I'm among a small contingent that also enjoys his adult feature-length cartoon, 'The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto' (2009). His upcoming horror feature '3 From Hell' will see the return of the Firefly clan.
Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, Rob Zombie & Sheri Moon Zombie on the set of 'The Devil's Rejects' (2005)
Kristina Klebe, Nick Mennell, Danielle Harris, Scout Taylor-Compton & Sheri Moon Zombie on location for 'Halloween' (2007)
Tyler Mane & Sheri Moon Zombie in 'Halloween 2' (2009)
Tribute to Sheri Moon Zombie in 'The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto' (2009)
Sheri Moon Zombie in 'The Lords Of Salem' (2012)
Sheri Moon Zombie & Rob Zombie relaxing on the set of '31' (2016)

Very excited about the Sixers - we shall see if they can get past Toronto which nobody is expecting That's an awesome picture in the above post (the 1st one with 'The Devils Rejects) Whatever happened to the movie 'The Unholy 3' - i.e. was it supposed to be a prequel to House of 1,000 Corpses or actually a sequel to The Devils Rejects where they're all in 'hell'?

Tough match-up, but hope springs eternal.
Not sure about the plot synopsis for the third installment in Rob Zombie's trilogy. The trailer's due soon according to Rob Zombie who's been reacting to the film's MPAA certification.
"Rob Zombie is celebrating the rating that the Motion Picture Association of America has just bestowed upon his upcoming horror film, 3 From Hell, which has been given an R-rating for “strong sadistic violence” and more debauchery. The rocker-director took to Facebook to reveal the rating, saying, “What’s Baby so happy about? Well, 3 FROM HELL has officially received an R-RATING from the MPAA for ‘strong sadistic violence, language throughout, sexual content, graphic nudity and drug use.’ Yup that sounds about right. Seriously would you expect anything else from these f*cking Rejects?” Zombie is most likely ecstatic that the film didn’t receive an NC-17, which would limit the scale of its release, but judging from his past films and the reasons behind this particular R-rating, we’re guessing it was a close call. While it was reported back in January that Zombie had completed production on the film, that wasn’t actually correct. In fact, he went on record to clarify that he hadn’t finished the movie at that time. However, production finally wrapped up earlier this month."

The whole hellbilly grunge aesthetic and trashy characters thing just doesn't do it for me. I can stomach Devil's Rejects and Lords of Salem, the Director's Cut of H2 has some good ideas. Absolutely hate Ho1KC and H1, though. Skipped 31.

I never really gotten into his music, but his films have been a bumpy ride.
I was an instant fan of ‘The Lords of Salem’ and ‘House of a 1000 Corpses’. I really like the offbeat visual details of the former, while the latter I enjoy it’s chaotic energy and obvious homages. First time I saw it was on opening weekend in a full cinema, which was a blast and always reminds of then when I watch H1000C.
Over time I’ve grown to like Halloween 2, but I actually prefer the theatrical cut mainly for its ending. I kinda like where Zombie took the characters, especially Loomis. Halloween builds nicely, but i wasn’t as invested in the second half. Liked the cast though.
Where I go against the grain is that I don’t particularly care for ‘The Devil’s Rejects’. Something about this one just rubs me up the wrong way, and the Firefly family just grated on my nerves with the central focus mainly on them.
As for 31, I thought it was really poor outside of Richard Brake.

I think '31' is my least favourite after 'House Of 1000 Corpses'. I find the plotless theatrics grow a little laborious here, though I appreciate aspects of the visual design.

Did you see his cartoon? It's a bit different to his live-action movies.

fetish star, Sheri Moon Zombie is a liability in his movies. Horrid actress.

The Devil's Rejects is still my favorite, despite being a sequel to House of 1000 Corpses, which I found silly and annoying. I might need to see it again to see if I still think that.
Found my old CD copy of the Mission:Impossible 2 soundtrack last week and Rob Zombie's Scum of the Earth came on as I was barreling down the highway, love that tune, hadn't heard it in ages.

He also did some feel good movie with Ice Cube where a girl plays pee wee football that was apparently passable. His new movie with Travolta is starting to sound like a disaster now, though.
