It has good reviews on Amazon. Several of the people who reviewed the cookbook have actually eaten at the diner in NYC. Maybe I'll order the book. I'm always looking for very simple recipes.

I haven't bought a cookbook for sooooo long. A few years ago, I purged 50 "+" of them, restricting myself to about 20. There are so many online recipes, and videos.
However, I did look at The Comfort Diner website, and I'll make it a point to stop there, the next time I'm in NYC. (I want a Reuben Sandwich, RIGHT NOW!!)

I wouldn't care for any recipes but I am enjoying looking at their huge menu - even though the NYC prices are a little on the high side (or are these normal diner prices these days?) From the breakfast menu I'll have, please, THE NEW YORKER , a toasted bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese, tomato, capers & red onion. Cost : $16 That alone is not gonna fill a person up so I'll ask for the COUNTRY BREAKFAST, 2 biscuits served with white sausage gravy, 2 eggs any style [ scrambled, please] and grits. Cost : $14 Hot tea $2.75 Total breakfast cost $32.75 plus tax, I'm guessing, plus 18% gratuity on bill. Moving on to the brunch menu now and it's mostly made up of items found on the bigger breakfast menu, but here goes. I'm drawn to the RED FLANNEL HASH, homemade corned beef hash made with sweet potato & roasted beets, with poached eggs & toast. That sounds very filling and at $15 is about the best deal on the menu. I want something cold and sweet now so let me go for the half a melon. Cost $6 A tall glass of lemonade. Cost $3 Total cost of brunch $24 plus tax, plus 18% gratuity on bill. Let's enjoy lunch or dinner in a combined menu. Bring me, please, to start, a $4 bowl of GRANDMAβS CHICKEN SOUP, loaded with chicken, carrots, celery and noodles. For my large plate I'll have GRILLED SOFT-SHELL STEAK TACOS. Two soft tortillas filled with steak, chopped lettuce, fresh salsa and shredded pepper jack cheese. Served with black beans, Spanish rice and guacamole. $20. Hot tea $2.75 Total lunch/dinner cost $26.75 plus tax, plus 18% gratuity. www.comfortdiner.com/menu/
