Hello Marauders, Enjoy my hard work if you want: THE MAD MAX TIMELINEmadmaxtimeline.blogspot.com/The original trilogy: "Mad Max" (1979), "Mad Max 2" (1981) aka "The Road Warrior" and "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" (1985). Of course, "Mad Max: Fury Road" (2015) is an alternate universe, so there's a standalone timeline only for it. I think you will enjoy my timelines and articles, because they truly explain a lot about the two 'Maxes' and their worlds. Thank you and... have a nice read!

Hell yes. Try if you want to try. As far as I know fury roads actually in same universe. No, sorry. On-screen evidence proves the opposite. It has been confirmed by hundreds of sources anyway. The Wasteland is different and the apocalypse happened some decades before, in our time (2010s). Max is different (younger, no white streaks in the hair, crazy/psychotic). He has still the Pursuit Special/Last of the V8 Interceptors with him. Read my timelines carefully. It's all written on there.

Hardy, Theron, some others involved... and even Miller is quite undecided/vague on this. It's a different Max in a different world, with a different timeline. Nothing wrong with it. Mind you, the tattooed specifics the War Boys did on Max's back are quite revelatory.

Eh I mean unless it's unanimously confirmed by those who created the whole conception of the world then really it's just Hardy and Theron's feelings regarding their portrayals. I've seen just as many confirmations regarding it placing somewhere within the originals timeline so yeah.

I've seen just as many confirmations regarding it placing somewhere within the originals timeline so yeah. It's undeniable that the "new" Max is younger (37), the Oil War Apocalypse ("The Fall") happened roughly 32 years before "Fury Road" so he had been a cop for very few time, he still retains the Interceptor and he has no white streaks in his hair. What you get on-screen is the canon, regardless. Miller himself expressed concern over it and the word "reimagining" has been SPELT OUT by almost everyone involved at some point. Plus, the Citadel and the Wasteland gangs would go against the ending of "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" in terms of resurgence of civilization. On the top of that, in the Fury Road world some new type of weapon has been used during the apocalypse, since the oceans has been totally vaporized --- it's obvious that there's no sea anymore anywhere, Max confirms this ("160 days" of travel, remember?) Yes, we can see that the post-apocalyptic Sydney has no sea anymore at the end of "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome", but we can just pretend that waters just "re-localized" elsewhere. Nuclear blasts cannot vaporize oceans at all, it has been certified.
