In an ideal world, Disney would just let this franchise die in peace, but we donโt live in an ideal world.

Interesting. Hmm. Time to ponder.

Good and bad. Bad: I'll have a three year gap between movies. Good: I'll have three years where I won't have to hear grown-ass men whining about how a movie ruined their childhood.

Disney: we're going to take a break
Also Disney: we're going to keep on milking a franchise that needs to be put to rest, but we're too creativity bankrupt to do so.

There is no rational argument you can make that it "needs to be put to rest". The abundance of comics, novels, and games demonstrates conclusively that Star Wars is an enormous playground with almost infinite story potential.

The abundance of comics, novels, and games demonstrates conclusively that Star Wars is an enormous playground with almost infinite story potential. The box office and toy sales "demonstrate conclusively" otherwise, sparky. As does Disney's retreat from their original release plans and decision to focus on the TV content instead in the short term. You should read a little more about the financial/business side of SW before spouting rot; just because you see an "abundance" of crappy merch and assume, "People love Star Wars!!!!1" doesn't put your fingers anywhere near the pulse of the problems facing the brand. It's ironically this exact ignorance that landed Disney in the situation they're in now. To coin a phrase: they're paying the price for their lack of vision.

Uh, nope. Do some research, kiddo. Uh, nope. Do some research, kiddo. The facts favor me.
But I suppose the very concept is alien to a psychopath such as yourself, right? You are too busy doing completely normal, not at all crazy things like looking up all my old posts and making hateful replies to them even though you have no interest in any of those subjects.
Get some help, dude. You need it.

Rian already copied their fast-travel cuts, so they'll feel right at home in that regard.

What facts? That TLJ had the largest second-week drop of any movie ever and made substantially less than TFA? That Solo bombed even though they paid to make it twice and made substantially less than Rogue One? That multiple major business publications have consistently reported lagging toy sales as being a drag on the brand since Q1, 2018? That Iger promised a film a year or more in perpetuity at one point and they've had to backpedal and recalibrate substantially, to the point where they're only releasing three films in the first seven years of the next decade? Help me out here. Brand is ice-cold. IX might do well as a last hurrah, but the "facts" don't "favor" you. Shit-for-brains.
