I gotta go with Prime. As amazing and brilliant as the SNES version is I think the GC series tops it.
What say you?

I like super Metroid ok. At least I remember liking it when it came out. I think neither one is even the best Metroid game.

I hate to admit it but I've yet to play the first. In what ways is it superior to Super Metroid?

I greatly enjoyed both, and I've never been a big Metroid fan.

Ya I know I should form my own opinions , but this review does nail it.

Sorry, I got to go with Super Metroid even though it's older.

Super Metroid.
I would rate Metroid Prime a 10/10 as well though.

Anyone who thinks super Metroid is better than Metroid simply hasn't played it.

Anyone who thinks super Metroid is better than Metroid simply hasn't played it. I just started playing Metroid this morning. It's difficult as sh!!t! And it's just one big bloody maze then isn't it. I'm already lost. I love the atmosphere, music and gameplay. And for an NES game it's really quite remarkable. But these aliens are kicking my shiny metal ass! Maybe I just suck (doubtful) but this game is unfairly hard.

Yea you can get lost easy in that game, you literally have to like make a map yourself, (at least I did cuz i'm not very smart)I love it lol. And it's difficult, I love it.

So I decided to use online maps. Cheating? Yeah, but the game is so much more enjoyable when you have at least some idea of where to go. Some of these upgrades are crazy hard to find! Now that I have the screw attack I'm really starting to enjoy and appreciate this game.

Technically I am using an online map as well, the map that came with the instruction manual. It shows not much of anything though.

It's so damn obscure. I suppose maybe that's the point though. It's only for the determined gamers as sort of a special "gift" rather than a necessary item.

I found it because I read the instruction manual and it says :"Zebus is a long complicated maze, samus must attack the walls with beams and bombs while searching for the hidden passageway thru which he can advance, use the map on the next page or better yet make one of your own to use and guide you."
It wasn't obscure for me cuz every time i'm in any room in the game I always shoot every part of the walls and ceiling to find hidden stuff. I literally just found it last hour ago.

Thanks for the offer! But I used a guide to find it. Finished the game a few weeks ago actually. I sort of wish I'd been more patient and discovered things on my own, but in the end I really enjoyed this classic game. It definitely gets more fun as you go along and most of my early gripes were voided as I got more upgrades. Looking forward to replaying it again at some point soon.

Ya its like everytime u use a guide then you regret it, every single time. Believe me, I've learned that lesson.
