My go to song in the past is becoming more and more difficult to do, as it is rarely on playlists anymore, and whippersnappers nowadays don't know it, but in the past, I have usually had everyone joining in on the chorus to, 'Hi Ho Silver Lining' by Jeff Beck.

The last time I did karaoke I sang "I Drink Alone" by George Thorogood. My friends thought I did a pretty good job.

I've pulled off passable versions of "Superstar" and "Have You Ever Seen the Rain". Would like to tackle "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "Common People", no doubt they'd be disastrous but fun.
Doubt any Karaoke place would have it, but I think I'd do a decent job of The Magnetic Fields' "Papa Was A Rodeo".

Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through - Jim Steinman
Whether the host running the karaoke session would have the song - is anyone's guess.
I would sing it better than Steinman. I find out years later - turns out, Steinman didn't actually sing the songs on his "Bad For Good" album.
I would probably not need the teleprompter since I know the whole song by heart.
Then again, when Meat Loaf did the song on his "Bat Out Of Hell II - Back Into Hell" album, right after the interlude, there were new lyrics - which I had to learn.

Zyklon B Zombie by Throbbing Gristle. Guaranteed to get everyone joining in. Or maybe "Slug Bait".

Limited vocal range but I do a mean China Girl.... in fact sung that on the night my lady and I first kissed just over 6 years ago. I gauge the phrase 'performed well' with the level of drunken kudos or lack thereof. I've had requests to do David Byrne's Crazy......and had strong requests to NOT do my over-the-top Bob Dylan pi§§-take.
An Irish pub I used to frequent too much had weekend after-hours lock-ins for regulars, but the only way you could get an alcoholic drink [LandLord Jim's strict rules] was to sing a song........solo....no backing ....for all to see.
I saw many times , a lot of my friends and other regulars die a public death for three minutes to get a beer, in front of us all and the steely eared Jim with a deadpan face but a delicious twinkle in his eye. No sing.....then you just got a cola. He liked my Can't Help Falling In Love With You..... "Ah Sing it from d'heart Petey Boy " but some feller started to rap one night and Jim threw him out the door.

After many horrendous karaoke performances I discovered I can do an okay rendition of most Oasis songs since Liam's range doesn't vary much.
