It's a tie for me. Revival, most of which I liked but left me with a nasty taste in my mouth with that DARRRRKKkK ending, and Desperation, a book in which the characters get out of every tight spot by praying. (Seriously, was King going through a born-again phase or something?)

The only Stephen King book I've ever read (out of (roughly) 40% of his releases) that I almost didn't finish was From A Buick 8 (2002). In the end, just a BIG so what ! A VERY odd feeling having to FORCE myself to pick-up a Stephen King book, just to finish reading it (since, by the end, I CERTAINLY wasn't reading it for pleasure any more).... SAVE FERRIS

There are a several of his books I got about 100 pages into and could not finish.
Of those I could finish, it has to be Gerald's Game. It's a short story, at best, but drawn out into this long novel. Has one great scene. That's about it.

I read only three (Pet Sematary, 'Salem's Lot, and The Langoliers).
Pet Sematary is my least favorite of the three. It had genuinely scary moments, moreso than the other two, but I felt there was too much filler and irrelevant detail. Louis Creed was frustratingly dumb as well.
I didn't get that feeling from the other books. The characters were smart enough, and nearly all of the details were pertinent.

I am probably in the minority but I found The Stand a very boring book. Possibly because I read the extended version which came out years after the publishers had apparently made some judicious edits.

Possibly because I read the extended version which came out years after the publishers had apparently made some judicious edits. I've read both versions and I didn't feel the extended one added anything important to the story. In fact, I could only spot one segment I didn't remember being in the original. If anyone feels they want to read it, I say go with the short version. The book's long enough even then.

I haven't read all of his stuff but out of what I've read I'd say "From a Buick 8" or "Desperation" were the ones I liked the least.

Dr. Sleep was such a huge let down. I was so excited to get a sequel to The Shining, and it seemed like a mediocre trunk novel that he just reworked to shoe-horn Danny into.

Four Past Midnight always struck me as King emptying the bottom desk drawer where he stored his weaker ideas that he knew couldn't stand on their own.

I've read 6, but Dreamcatcher is the only one I abandoned.
