Ok so CW just announced their upfronts, as no surprise they picked up Batwoman what is a surprise maybe however that it will be a Fall debut opening up the chance for it being a full season outright or have room for additional episodes if it's only getting 13 or so out the gate.
CW also ordered 2 other series based on IP's both also female led supposedly as a replacement for their female led shows that they ended this year, with CW picking up Nancy Drew & Riverdale spin off Katy Keene, Nancy Drew getting a Fall release and Katy Keene a mid season replacement, other news is Legends will not debut in the fall and will also be a mid season show probably going to fill Arrow's void once their 10 episode season ends.
The line up as of now is - SUN Batwoman & Supergirl MON All American & Black Lightning TUE The Flash & Arrow WED Riverdale & Nancy Drew THU Supernatural & Legacies FRI Charmed & Dynasty
Mid season shows Katy Keene, DC Legends of Tomorrow, The 100, In The Dark & Roswell, NM have not jet been given their days as of now.
So what do you guys think happy? sad? amused? bemused? I like that we are getting Superheroine Sundays should be fun, though makes me think Batwoman should have been on the same earth as Supergirl and that way the different universes could be simply paired up in their air dates but oh well, also I am so happy Legacies is getting a Fall release as hopefully it means they are also getting a full season order, makes me so happy.

Hopeful about Batwoman. Nancy Drew looks like it will be the same stupid junk as Riverdale.

Thanks for posting that dazz. I am surprised over them making a 'Katy Keene' spinoff show before the 'Josie' show they were talking about last year and over a 'Betty & Veronica' spinoff first 'cause there were a lot of 'Betty & Veronica' comic books but I suppose they want to keep the characters in 'Riverdale' and taking them out of that for their own show would affect a lot of the storylines. I haven't heard any other updates about the Josie show but I am hoping it turns out to be 'Josie and the Pussycats' and they have music in it 'cause I can't see it working without that and most fans want to see Josie with the Pussycats and not separate. It will be interesting to see what takes the place of 'Supernatural' 'cause I have heard they are looking to replace it with a similar show of the same genre to keep fans after it has finished and it might end up being the 'Buffy' reboot or DC's 'Project 13' which Elizabeth Banks was directing. They never mentioned what happened to that or the TV Show they were adapting of Alyssa Milano's 'Hacktivist.'

Apparently the Lost Boys TV show isn't being shelved just rethought so that could be what takes Supernaturals place, as CW replaced all the female lead shows that ended or are ending with other female lead shows they may do the same there and want a male lead show to take it's place as well as a supernatural focused show, which Lost Boys fits, even has the brother aspect to it also.
Personally I would have liked if they could have put a Supernatural spin of show in it's place to carry on the universe, but what with God being the final big bad it seems unlikely, for no other reason than I like the actress I wouldn't have minded if they had done a show with the siblings from The Thing episode from S13, they could have been our eyes into the new world left behind after the Winchester finished their story but like I said seems unlikely now.

Okay. I didn't know about that. I was wondering what happened to the show and I am still disappointed we didn't get the 'Witchblade' TV Show on CBS or NBC and they were saying that was going to take the place of 'Grimm' and it was being developed by Caroline Dries who is doing the 'Batwoman' TV Show now and the last thing I heard is they are waiting to see how 'Spawn' goes and if 'Spawn' makes over 100 million they are going to adapt more of the Image Comics series into movies and 'Witchblade' is one of them so it looks like it was shelved in favour of it being made into a movie. 'Witchblade' could have been a good replacement for 'Supernatural' on the CW and they could have used it the same way as the 'Arrowverse' to make all of its spinoff series such as 'The Darkness', 'Aphrodite IX', 'The Magdalena', ', The Necromancer', 'The Angelus', 'Artifacts', 'IXth Generation' etc into TV Shows too but I think some of those could end up being too expensive to make into TV Shows and that is probably where the problem lies with 'Witchblade' as a TV Show now and one of the main complaints about the old show was it looked cheap and was lacking in special effects. There are a lot of other comic book TV Shows CW could adapt outside of DC shows and 'Hack/Slash' which I discussed with you on a thread the other day would be a great Horror one but as a huge fan of the series I am bias.
I would have liked a 'Supernatural' spinoff show too and am still disappointed we didn't get 'Wayward Daughters' and the thing that annoyed me the most with that show is they never gave it a chance. Not a single one. They could have aired one episode and seen how it went and if it didn't get good ratings cancel it but they did the same thing ABC did with 'Marvel's Most Wanted' and the joke with that is if you read about some of the most successful TV Shows of all time the networks didn't like them to begin with and thought they would flop and 'Seinfeld' was lucky to get made and was nearly cancelled after its first season but they still gave it a chance and I don't know, I think they could still make a spinoff show. Why not make one with Cass, Jack, Claire, Alex, Jodie and some of the other characters if they don't have the Empty kill Castiel which might not happen now God is the villain. It depends on how it ends and if the earth is still around after the final episode and if demons even still exist. Jared said before about making TV movies after the show so it will probably end continued in some form so they can do those.

CW wont do a show they don't own, so it depends on the rights holders, they would need to agree to give CBS, WB or CW the ownership of the show, as without that CW couldn't license it to other networks to make their money, the IP holders or whatever production company they made a deal with would, and CW doesn't seem to play that game, which is the thing we like to think how simple this stuff is, just make this show it's easy but you never know how the people on either side of the table are behaving to make these things easy or hard to make, and no one will ever admit to being the reason for something failing to get made.
I agree about Wayward Sisters, at the very least commission like 3-4 episodes and at worst air them as a web series during the summer or something at like 10 minute chunks, if fans respond to it then great green light a season, if they don't oh well you gave them a few episodes to try and sell people but no one wanted it, also you can write it so those episodes end either open or closed based on the prior 11 weeks of viewerships so if people like it keep the ending open, if they don't air the closed version so atleast as fans we have our closure, also it's great bonus material to add to the next seasons DVD of the main show.

Yeah. That is what annoys me. I don't get why some TV Shows don't get made or don't get given a chance and the CW Network messed around with 'Supergirl' for years and told Laura Vandervoort the show was going to be made as we have discussed before and they never went through with it and there were a bunch of other 'Smallville' spinoffs that were talked about like 'Martian Manhunter' and 'Zatanna' that didn't get made either and the one they did make (Green Arrow) they ended up rebooting and replacing the lead actor. I would have liked to have seen the CW make at least one spinoff from 'Smallville' and it would have given them a chance to bring back some of the characters years later for guest appearances but 'Arrow' was the one that ended up getting all the spinoff shows instead. Then there was a 'Raven' TV Show going to be made around the same time as 'Arrow' and that didn't go through either and a 'Raven' TV Show could have been good and it probably won't happen anytime soon since we have the character in 'Titans' but it is still possible we could get a 'Raven' movie at some point with an older version of the character.
I heard from somebody recently 'Supernatural' tried to make three spinoff shows and none of them went through but I don't remember there being another one aside from the failed 'Bloodlines' and do you know what that was dazz? I always thought Castiel should have got a spinoff and was surprised they never tried to make one early since he is the most popular of all the side characters they have had in the show and I think a lot of 'Supernatural' fans (if not the majority) would watch a 'Castiel' spinoff. I think the problem is when such a show would be based and if they made it about Castiel before he met Sam and Dean and took over Jimmy's body Misha Collins would look out of place but if Castiel is still alive at the end of the show and Misha wants to do it maybe they should replace 'Supernatural' with a Castiel show and that would give them a chance to keep other characters on too and keep the 'Supernatural' universe going. With 'Wayward Sisters/Daughters' (some sites were calling it 'Wayward Daughters' too) I recall reading an article that said they filmed the pilot and if it was filmed they should make it a Bonus feature on the DVD for the final season.
