How mad would you be if this happened?

Gendry will have to put wheels on it…

Pretty mad. There's no link there between the character and the throne so there would be absolutely no payoff.

Ugh! That would make no sense for that to happen. So yeah, pretty mad.

Considering how messed up everything is now, I wouldn't be surprised - but i would hate it.

At this point, I almost expect it. He's for whatever reason the betting odds on favorite for it. I think it's really stupid but I haven't really been pleased with this season in general so there is little they can do in the finale that will change that imo. I do think that the final season apologists will find some reason to make it seem like a good choice even if they hate the Bran character.

This was my least favorite part of the episode. Again...because no lead up, no payoff. Brans story was NEVER about the throne. So him getting there at this point is about as appealing as Jon becoming an owner and proprietor of a brothel in Lannisport.

I can't remember off the top of my head if Bloodraven wanted the throne, but if he did, he won. A Targ got the throne after all, in a Stark body. I'd love it if I'm right.

It happened, and I'm pretty perturbed. Well, not quite. There's no Iron Throne anymore, thanks to Drogon.

Tyrion's reasoning was half strange. Only half because resorting to legend to improve the acceptance of rulers has always been a common behaviour. That's why Greek kings and Roman nobles pretended to be descended from gods. The idea of an elective super-monarchy is not bad either. It sort of worked for a thousand years with the Holy Germanic Roman Empire Which Barely Was Any Of These Things.

I seem to remember Caesar telling a story going back to Venus but that's a long time ago. As to the Holy Roman Empire, it was called "Sacrum Romanum Imperium Nationis Teutonicae", which is where the occasional German or Germanic qualifier comes from.

And it was 'none of the above,' not holy, not Roman (mostly German in fact) and not an empire as a famous wag once noted.
