Jeremy Saulnier (Born: June 10, 1976 in Alexandria, Virginia, USA)
Jeremy Saulnier & Macon Blair
Cameraman-for-hire Jeremy Saulnier occupies a cosy niche that has a lot of movie fans excited. Saulnier is tipped by some film critics to be the next Rian Johnson, a prediction that was also made about E.L. Katz several years back, though somewhat prematurely as it turned out. Saulnier makes quirky horror films that exhibit his talents behind the camera, a device he often moves slowly.
What are some of your favourite Jeremy Saulnier movies?
Thanks.

I'm not sure what to make of Jeremy Saulnier's horror movies. He's a talented filmmaker but I've struggled a bit with his work. I didn't like 'Murder Party' (2007) and 'Green Room' (2015) I found underwhelming. I did enjoy his crime movie 'Blue Ruin' (2013) which has some pretty dark material. I've not seen 'Hold The Dark' (2018).

‘Blue Ruin’ was a fascinating ride and I was throughly surprised by ‘Murder Party’, especially by its quirks. However I agree with your sentiments for ‘The Green Room’. It had an excellent cast and an odd brutal moment or so, but I couldn’t engage with the story or characters.

The same courier company driver I see every day at work told me I had to watch the indie thrillers 'Blue Ruin' and 'Cheap Thrills' (2013). I'm glad I listened as I enjoyed both these movies.
