Good, midichlorians was one of the dumbest things Lucas did to Star Wars. Best to just sweep that one under the rug. Like Richie having a brother in the first season of "Happy Days".

For me, even worse was giving a protocol droid the origin story of having been built by a ten year old Darth Vader to help Mom around the house.

It is kinda weird C3P0 didn't seem to recognize or really talk about growing up with Lil Vader in the originals. Was this ever explained? I thought I heard something about his memory being erased.

Well, you have to admit, you and Faustus's tiny minds have enough of a challenge as it is.

Well, you have to admit, you and Faustus's tiny minds have enough of a challenge as it is. You've been asked numerous times to provide evidence behind how this supposed "soul" works, you can't. I figured this thread would be better suited to talk about plotholes in the Star Wars prequels.

You ARE a soul that has a temporary body. What about the monster created by Dr. Frankenstein. Has he got a soul too?

Sorry, not buying it.
The soul, in many religious, philosophical, and mythological traditions, is the incorporeal essence of a living being. Soul or psyche (Ancient Greek: ψυχή psūkhḗ, of ψύχειν psū́khein, "to breathe") comprises the mental abilities of a living being: reason, character, feeling, consciousness, memory, perception, thinking, etc. Depending on the philosophical system, a soul can either be mortal or immortal.
For this discussion I am going with the Judeo-Christianity, belief that human beings have immortal souls, which the OP seems to favour.
The problem I have with this is that all theses things are dependent on the feedback of a body. In other words: It requires a body for what you call a soul to grow and expand. A twenty year old are not the same person they where when you where five. A forty year old are not the same person they where when they where twenty etc.
An everlasting existence without any such opportunity is pretty much the worst fate I can think of. I can't prove there isn't a soul, but I hope with every shred of a being it's not.

That is something anti-intellectuals say because they are too stupid and intentionally ignorant to understand the compendium of acquired human knowledge including science, TWAT.

You might be interested in Mormonism. They teach that the human soul evolves and becomes godlike. Who onearth would want that kind of power and responsibillity?
Still it's better than the alternative being discussed.
As for interest? I am interested in most mythologies. Don't believe in any, but I find the subject facinating.

Soul or psyche comprises the mental abilities of a living being: reason, character, feeling, consciousness, memory, perception, thinking, etc. And when that living being dies, all that dies with it? Just wondering...

Personally I don't think souls exist at all, at least not as something separate from a living being and yes it dies along with us. Not a bad fate when you think about it. It just means you're in the same state you where in before you where born.
The only thing that lives on in you is what people remember about you.

A soul is our state of being really, something we symbolically give birth too. It is not a separate entity. Wrong, but amusing how you state that with such authority, as if you know that for a fact. Lol
